Excellent open space park ideal for a afternoon of stress free enjoy. There is a beer garden where you can have a beer or even lunch and just sit, lay down or take a walk at this beautiful site. If you are arond, check it out.

Munich's English Garden is like New York's Central Park. It's my favorite place to get out and see how the Münchners really live. It's bustling at any time of year and summer is an especially fun time to visit. There are, as the Germans say, "Eis" vendors all around selling a cone for 1 or 2 Euros and sunbathers lying on the banks of the Eisbach. We went to the Chinese Tower and enjoyed a beer and a pretzel. The only downside was the bees that really liked the smell of the beer.

Seriously there are people surfing in the park. The English garden is a quiet oasis in this bustling city. Wish it had horse drawn carriages though.

Surfing wave was great to watch and the bier gardens were great too but a bit expensive for food. Lovely views of the lake. A bike ride of even just walking around is a nice way to lose yourself in a very busy city, especially during Oktoberfest. So much to explore, could spend a good few hours here. Week days are better as they are a bit quieter.

I visited this garden and I was surprised by the huge area. There is also a beer garden (of course). Many open spaces for the kids and also there is an area where you may get (only on sunny days) a good tan 'all over' !!! Yes, you get a section where anyone can go sunbathing nude !
