“Relaxing spot”
Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

I wandered around in the morning. There are some people jogging. There seems to be used as a relaxing spot by residents. The garden is very huge. If you bring a bike, you'll enjoy it more.

“Spacious greenery and lake”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Walked through parts of the English Garden on our way to the Seehaus restaurant.

Lots of local joggers and friendly football matches on the grass. The lake is gorgeous with resident swans.

I loved this place. It is very large and it takes you a while to get around. In the center there is a biergarden and you can rent boats.

“It really is 'English'”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

A beautiful and huge park in central Munich. Best reached via Odeonsplatz station, then walk through the Residence park.
We went twice during our stay- once in the afternoon and once in the evening. Both times it was buzzing with tourists and locals. Being English, I found it weird how much the layout reminded me of home! We sat on picnic benches at the smaller beer garden by the water and watched the ducks, with beer and excellent food- it is quite expensive to eat here but really you can have one dish between two. The BBQ ribs are amazing.
On our second visit we went to the larger beer garden by the pagoda- this is a lot more German, with the band playing. Beware of the wasps.
Other than the beer gardens, you can just sit on the grass and enjoy the atmosphere, or maybe watch the surfers!

“Lovely place to walk”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Lovely gardens, and a great place to walk. If sunny worth sitting to enjoy a beer in gigantic litre glasses !
Very pretty and recommended to take some time away from the hustle and bustle.
