Beautiful church and a very interesting story on how and why it was built. I recommend carving out some time to visit it while you are in Munich.

Definitely worth a trip - a real gem and completely jaw dropping in its intricacy and beauty. Make sure to check out the faces on the cherubs in the foyer - including those being terrorised by skeletons

From XVIII century it was built by 2 brothers, the Asam brothers. It so beautifull the High Altar, the stuccowork and masterpieces of fresco painting. It is a must go.

The Asam church on Sendlinger Strasse has a truly remarkable interior. The Late Baroque design is dark, dramatic and luxuriant. Unmissable.
