Pleasant place to visit. The palace itself is impressive, but the grounds surrounding, specifically behind the palace, seemed almost endless! Just a walk around the grounds (free) is worth your time. Keep an eye out for swans and geese in the ponds! Accessible from central Munich via tram.

If you buy the "MehrtagesTicket" you pay one price for admission to multiple palaces and castles including this one (the don't really advertise this but ask and they are happy to issue you a pass).there are audio tours for purchase 3,5 euros that explain what you're seeing in the palace. In our group of 3, 1 person got one and then told us about anything really interesting. The best part was the room of beauties..scandalous stories. See the cool interactive exhibits in a room just off the gift shop. Don't miss the carriage and sleigh display in a separate building...it was really interesting and unique. The porcelain exhibit is nice but some, men in particular might find it a bit dull. The overall property is lovely and gardens impressive, but they are stingy with information forcing at least one in your group to to get the audio guide for the palace, and there's little written information on the exhibits so even though they are great, you can't appreciate their full significance or value. Still, all in our group were glad that we toured this palace.

We were quite surprised to see so much litter in the streets as we walked up to the front of the grounds. The gardens were nice. We didn't go into the palace as some of the rooms were closed for renovation and it didn't seem worth the fees.

If you've been to the Bavarian castles and enjoyed them you might as well take a quick trip to see where the man who build them all started. Nymphenburg is easy to get to with public transportation in Munich. Doesn't take much time and very convienient when in Munich.

This is a must see when visiting Munich. Allow a full day to view all this palace has to offer as it is absolutely stunning. Another must go back to for us as we did not have time to see it all this time.
