Being able to see the palace was a fantastic experience, and the decorations are very elaborate. The treasury is especially intriguing, with hundreds of amazing pieces. It does take a very long time to walk around the palace, so be prepared to spend several hours wandering around if you are keen to absorb all the history presented by the audio guides (which are very helpful and included in the tour).

This was just a marvelous way to spend a cold, rainy Sunday in March !!
Loved it all--disappointed that the Porcelain Factory and out buildings were closed for the Winter---To Cold and rainy to visit the gardens..
But the best treat after visiting the Carriage collection ( Best I have ever seen ) was the small Restaurant along the south side exit from the Carriage Collection --- but still on the grounds..
Schlosswirtschaft -Schwaige ----www.schlossswirtschaft-schwaige.de/
Had wanted a Really good German Meal--and they did not disappoint !
Lovely decor, very friendly--lots of locals meeting family & friends.
Sunday "spot on" service. Just Heaven. Perfect way to end our trip.

We went by tram to the palace grounds in near freezing weather. But the lake in front of the palace had many swans and it looked gorgeous with white snow all around. The tour inside the palace itself was worth the visit, giving a glimpse of history.

wow, don´t forget your camera. you got to take some shots for home. i mean when you see what was built those days. and the portraits. and furniture with beautiful inlays. the chandeliers. just unreal. there are also a few good restaurants in the same area.

This Summer residence of the former Bavarian monarchs is nowadays substantially central and easy to reach, boasting a very large park and a diverse collection of museums (porcelain as well as historic coaches, not to mention the botanical garden)
