My experience here was in line with other reviews on TA: this hotel is in a quiet suburban location, but close to good tram transport to the city centre. The people on the desk, and the person who serves breakfast, are charming and helpful, and the hotel offers excellent value for money. The hotel was full all the time that I was there, and that this is the case is very understandable.

There are a couple of supermarkets where the trams stop, and one is only a short walk from the Chateau Nymphenberg, which is surrounded by woods with walking paths through them. The beer garden Hirschgarten, which is nearby, is well worth a try - although it is not cheap, and the beer is stronger than one might imagine!

When I'm next in Munich, I'll be back.

Room tip: The single room I had right above the reception room was a little noisy when guests were coming in and out, but from late evening onwards all was fine

Booked this hotel on the strength of the TA rating, was not dissapointed by any means! Very, very warm welcome and staff always very happy to talk or see you. The breakfast was a great selection to be served from such a small area of breakfast room. A sign said they were full on at least one of the nights we were there, but the other guests, room sound proofing or both made it feel quiet and relaxed. My only slight quibble was the wifi, which didn't seem to like my iPad in our room, however wifi reception seems to be a difficult thing for anywhere to get 100% right; my partner's phone was fine and we could also sit in the breakfast room to use a better signal at any point.

Incredibly close to the Hirschgarten, meaning extra cheap evening dining and beer for anyone watching the euros. Room of good size for two who usually share, shower had good punch and your own electric heated towel rail is always handy. If there was a Kriemhild in every city that we wanted to visit on a budget then I'd book in an instant.

Room tip: We booked quite late and ended up with a balcony without asking for it. No air con in rooms but road side easily quiet enough to sleep with window/balcony door wide open.

The hotel is located in a very pleasant leafy neighborhood a short tram ride away from Munich city centre. Normally we prefer to stay in a central location but this neighborhood is much nicer. The staff is super, very helpful with tips on what to see and do in Munich. Our room was spotless and we had no trouble with noise. The breakfast buffet was good and is offered until 10 a.m., nice for those of us who like to sleep in! The hotel is family owned and it shows.

In the evening if you don't want to go into Munich, there's a few nice restaurants nearby and of course the Hirschgarten is a fun place for a beer. The Ewiges Licht is a good bar/restaurant near the Steubenplatz tram stop (one stop away from Kreimhild) and is an Augustiner house.

The Kriemhild is a family owned hotel located in the Nymphenberg neighborhood of Munich. It’s a 10 minute tram ride to the center, and there are 2 different tram stops about a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel. There are 2 major attractions within walking distance of the hotel, and they are the Nymphenberg Palace, which is one of the leading tourist attractions in Munich, and the other is the Hirsch Beer Garden (Hirschgarten), which is the largest beer garden in all of Europe.

The hotel is well run and well maintained. The staff and the family that owns it are all most helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, and the room was spacious and comfortable.

Stayed for 4 nights while we explored Munich and lots of good things to say about it. Very helpful staff, very comfortable and spacious room, great location near Nymphenburg Palace and tram line into Central Munich. Excellent breakfasts and good value too. Wifi was great in room and throughout. Very near the Hirschgarten beer garden restaurant and we ate there four times as the food and atmosphere was great and excellent value (and they take credit cards and do split bills!) Probably the only fly in our ointment was noisy people in the next rooms with TVs and loud footsteps for several nights that meant we weren't able to get to sleep but you get that in popular hotels. All up, a great place to stay and would recommend it highly.
