“Good value hotel with easy access to central Munich”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2011

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our holiday. We had two adjacent rooms for ourselves and our two children. The rooms were relatively spacious, well furnished, very clean and quiet and with a well-equipped bathroom. The breakfast was simple but plentiful and fresh, with prompt and friendly service. We used the 16 and 17 trams - it was a short walk to the tramstop (Kriemhildenstrasse) - about five minutes. The trip into the centre took 10 or 15 minutes. On our first morning we went to the Deutsches Museum which is the other side of the city centre, but the tram took us directly there. Both evenings we ate in the vicinity of the hotel, first night at the Hirschgarten, and the second at a small pub/restaurant (Kurgarten). The day we left, we visited the gardens of the Nymphenburg (5-10 mins walk away) and then had a coffee and delicious cakes at a cafe near the hotel. So although this is a quiet neighbourhood, there are things nearby to see and do.

We picked this hotel due to the reviews on Tripadvisor and because the central Munich hotels looked very expensive. We were not disappointed, and would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for good value and a reliable standard of comfort.

Stayed at the Hotel Kriemhild in April 2011 for 3 nights. Booked the hotel because of the great reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. After a delayed flight we were grateful to be greeted by clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was varied and generous and filled us up for a day of sightseeing. The staff are ever so friendly and helpful, even before we arrived. The area surrounding the hotel seemed very safe and quiet, the tram just a short walk away and is just a short ride to the centre quickly - 20 mins I think - (we bought tickets for the tram from the hotel desk). Recommended!

What can I say that hasnt allready been said about this superb little hotel? I really enjoyed my stay here , my room (108 - a single) was spotless , and had a lovely bathroom with powerful hot shower , sink and toilet. There is a flat screen telly provided too , although the only English language channel is CNN - however you don't come to Munich to watch TV!!! The tram service (16 and 17) is 5 mins walk away and takes you into the city. For the Main Square , change onto the U Bahn at Sendlinger Tor and in one stop you are there! The Hotel is set in a lovely quiet residential area , that doesnt suffer from any noise from the main road - romantic couples may wish to know that the Esso garage there sells Moet and Chandon champagne! The Breakfast spread is superb with top quality meats , cheeses , cereals , yoghurts , various breads , rolls and pretzels (of course!). Fresh Tea or Coffee is brought to your table once you have sat down and there are 3 different fruit juices to enjoy too!!! The hotel staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

All in all , a superb hotel and one I WILL be staying in again!

This is a good hotel. Located in a quiet street, a 10 minute walk to the beautiful Schloss Nymphenburg park and 5 minute walk to the tram stop to Munich city centre. The hotel is relaxed and the rooms are a good size. Cleanliness is excellent and the reception staff in particular have a good grasp of English. There are a number of good restaurants nearby, including the famous Koniglischer Hirschgarten. This place is definitely well worth a visit, if only to experience the atmosphere, the food is good value and beer comes in only two sizes: big and bigger.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Kriemhild for 6 nights. The location is perfect-a quiet neighborhood setting and a 5 minute walk from Munich's largest biergarten: Hirschgarten, which apparently can seat up to 10,000 and is adjacent to the Hirschgarten park. But, that is its own review! Kriemhild was immaculate with comfortable rooms including a small sofa for reading, ample light, and a delicious continental buffet breakfast-they even bring you out your own pot of coffee! One morning we enjoyed breakfast out on the terrace. After a busy day sightseeing in the city, it felt like home to return to Kriemhild. Additionally, you are a 10 minute walk to the train station, a 5 minute walk to the tram that also brings you into the city, and about a 15 minute walk to Schloss Nymphenburg, which has its own set of gardens that are lovely to stroll through after dinner. I look forward to returning to Hotel Kriemhild and have recommended it to family who are considering a trip to Munich.

This past April, my Italian friends and I made an unexpected weekend trip to Munich from Verona, Italy. We called and were able to book rooms at the Kriemhild. They had remodeled their hotel since my last stay with them in 2007. I am happy to report that they have installed a large (by European standards) elevator and have "freshened" their rooms. Everything was spotlessly clean and we slept very well. It was quiet, and we were able to open our window to enjoy the cool night air. Their breakfast had a substantial assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, fruit, and other goodies that were fresh, satisfying and tasty.

I love staying in a beautiful neighborhood filled with trees, flower gardens, and locals on bikes instead of the concrete and crowds of the central city. The Hirschgarten is a short walk away...maybe 2 blocks...you can see it from the front of the hotel. We spent a delightful first few hours in Munich drinking beer, eating spare-ribs out in the beer garden enjoying the weather and the atmosphere with the locals.

We left our car at the hotel, and bought a partner ticket (what a bargain for the 4 of us) at the front desk to take the nearby tram to the central city. The front desk provided a map and we were on our way to enjoy a wonderful afternoon and evening seeing the sights and enjoying everything that central Munich had to offer. After dinner, we took the tram back, and walked the short distance back to the hotel. It's approximately 4 or 5 blocks... about a 10 minute walk or so.

I would recommend the Hotel Kriemhild to anyone going to Munich who is interested in slowing down a little to enjoy local life in a beautiful neighborhood outside of the central city. The tram makes it easy to get wherever you want to go, and the hotel itself is a good value when compared to many of the hotels closer to the central city. The price of your room also covers parking and breakfast. If their parking lot is full, you can park on the street in front.

This is an excellent (peaceful, clean and very well run) hotel with easy access to two important assets - the Königlicher Hirschgarten (http://www.hirschgarten.com/) which can seat up to 8000 in the Beer Garden (great beer, great food) and the impressive tram system which gives easy/cheap access to downtown Munich. Definitely a hotel I intend to return to.
