This hotel was recommended by a friend and while I would often be wary of 3 star hotels this very good value for money. It is located a few streets from the Alt Stadt in a quiet residential location. There is a subway a few steps away and also a number of very good restaurants. On a sunny weekend the little square in front of the church after which the street is named is a gathering point for locals and a lovely spot for a coffee or long lunch. The hotel itself is basic but rooms are clean and a decent size and those at the front have a little balcony. Breakfast is fresh with the usual selection of cold meats and cheeses, including a very nice pate, warm selection is limited to boiled egg or scrambled egg. Staff are friendly and efficient but I was a little surprised by the 5 euro daily charge for wifi. All in all a good balance of convenience and location and great choice if you intend to spend most of your time out and about but would like hotel convenient enough to drop back to for a rest during the day.

Room Tip: Rooms to the front have balcony (not sure about those at the back) but beware the church is just acr...

This is a older but very clean hotel situated in a quiet location. The breakfast was normal German standard. It is only 30 meters away from the next Subway station so it is easy to get around. I will stay here again.

The big plus for this place is location and close Subway connection.

I have stayed at this hotel nearly every trip I have ever made to Munich and I have been there many times over the years. The location is perfect - near the Isar, Englischer Garten, and the Alt Stadt. The staff have always been friendly. One time my secretary forgot to acknowledge the reservation for my hotel room. Around 10 at night, I showed up - tired from a long flight. It turned out Domus was full and I had no reservation. They called around and found a room at a neighboring hotel, which was not easy, because everyone was booked. The new hotel was more expensive, but the front desk clerk negotiated the same rate for me. I would never think of staying anywhere else in Munich. Breakfast is great. The Italian restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent. The neighborhood is nice to walk around. Enjoy.

I just remembered to write this review after a friend asked for a recommendation in Munich, so my memory might not be very detailed.

We had no problems with the rooms, the service, or the cleanlines. Wifi was available and working when we were there. Breakfast was delicious and breakfast staff were prompt and efficient. Front desk employees were kind and helpful if a bit short. Rooms were acceptable and larger than expected. We were staying with another couple who appeared to have a much smaller room with a much older television so it might be hit or miss. Bathroom was magnificent with good water pressre and very clean.

Altogether, we didn't ask for anything other than a nice quiet place to stay with decent amenities and a hearty breakfast. our wish was fulfilled and, based on our experience, would recommend to anyone.

The most unfriendly staff - by far - I have ever encountered. Acted annoyed if asked for directions or recommendations, and downright refused to provide any assistance with printing boarding passes for a flight leaving next day! I would never stay there again.

The Domus is very similar to other hotels which I have reviewed in the Lehel district of Munich. I stayed in a twin-bedded room which I would describe as comfortable and more than adequate for one’s needs. The bathroom had a bath which I always view as a plus point in hotels as it allows one to relax at the end of a busy day. The breakfast (included in the price) was fine and the lady who manned the reception desk was helpful. The internet connection (which had to be paid for) worked fine for me, so all in all I had the surroundings that I needed. The hotel fits into that middle range – not ‘tatty’, not luxurious but reliable, ‘smallish’ and not part of an ‘identikit’ chain. The plus point of Lehel is that you are in a residential district of Munich with its own character & small shops, yet you are within the metro system and the city centre & English Garden both are within short walking distances.

I stayed at the Domus hotel for 3 stays during a business trip to Munich. The hotel is not altogether bad but for the next trip I will look for another hotel.

Pros: clean, large room; good continental breakfast in friendly atmosphere; central location in a quite part of Munich very close to the Englischer Garten, Hofgarten and Haus der Kunst.

Cons: no wireless internet, just ethernet access to local LAN with 8P8C connector/cable; my access (with Intel MAC) to the LAN failed however despite repeated attempts and trying several configurations. When I asked the reception staff to inform me if the access to LAN works for other guests and to check if the connection is ok, I was quite rudely "informed" to try again. As a result I had to find a hotspot in a local coffeeshop to connect to email. For this reason alone and any lack of help from the hotel staff I would not recommend the hotel, at least for business trips if you rely on internet access to stay in touch with your business at home.

Additional cons: unfriendly staff at reception, no bathroom supplies except all-purpose soap, no coffeemaker or iron in room.
