Pension Beck is located within a 10-minute walk from a metro station in a lovely neighborhood with high apartment buildings on both sides of the residential street. It takes only minutes to get to the river as well as one of the most high fashion streets in all of Munich. I shared a room with my folks and slept on the "third bed," which was perfectly acceptable, comfortable and adorned with clean sheets. The lady at reception was kind, the brekkie was meager (for Germany, that is) but still consisted of rolls, fabulous butter and lots of little jams, Nutella and those individually wrapped "triangle cheeses.". The server always made sure our coffee pot was full and we had enough to eat. If in Munich for a few days I recommend staying here as the price is much better than other places in the city and you get a taste of "real life" by staying in a residential neighborhood.

This is about as authentic a good old-fashioned German pension as you can get. Plain, unadorned, clean (as clean as you can keep a 150+ year old building), with a no-nonsense owner and breakfast lady. Unbelievably cheap for the location which is not only central but also close to parks and the river Isar. Breakfast is simple and - well, German. Looking for a fancy Bed & Breakfast? You're in the wrong place. Looking to taste real day-to-day German life? This is it. I've been there twice, on the recommendation of a good friend, and will go there again on my next trip to Munich. The fact that washrooms and toilets are shared have never been a problem.

Room Tip: This place is by a busy street. If noise is a problem, let them know and they'll do their best...

Before arriving, we were a bit worried because we read some negative feedback online. However, we had a great stay in Munich, and the Pension turned out to be really good. The price is really great compared to the location. You can reach the old city by easily walking 5-10 minutes.
The owners of the pension were SUPER nice, very welcoming, always ready to help us.
We had a room without bathroom, but the shared bathroom was really clean. Also the room was clean.
The breakfast was pretty simple, but good. Warm and home atmosphere.
Only problem: the curtains in the room could not guarantee darkness in early morning.

Yes it was very affordable and a decent location. Not very clean and smelled bad, stale smoke smell everywhere. Breakfast was bread and jam. Better off going to a corner shop and spending a few euros.

Mild temperature but needed fresh air due to funky smells. Open window means NO sleep at all. Very, very loud.

Front desk was friendly and helpful. If you need a place dirt cheap, it may suffice but not for us again.

Room Tip: BEWARE - Extremely loud street noise

This place is great, I stayed here for the start of Oktoberfest, nice staff - brilliant location, bright room - it's not fancy but it's a great budget pension. Other reviewers have complained about the breakfast but I felt it was fine for the price.

This is a good place to stay if you are in Munich and on a budget. My wife and I stayed for 50 euros per night. We stayed in a double room with the bath down the hallway. It's not as bad as you think. the bathroom was kept very clean and sanitary. We were in the building in the back on the third floor. It was very quiet and were able to get good sleep. It is a resonable walk to Marienplatz from the pension. Would stay here again.

We were given a very large, airy room with bath for 2 in the rear building behind a courtyard. The room had an excellent large bed and a large bathhroom. You DO have to climb stairs. Avoid the front building as the streetcars run long hours in front. Nice continental breakfast provided. Helpful staff and good value for the money. Close to 3 streetcar lines and Deutsche Museum. We will go back again. Good value.
