“Great stay for Munich expo (Messe)”
Reviewed April 1, 2009

This was the 2nd time we stayed here during the expo we regularly visit.
Before we stayed at the other half of the city and by car it was 1 hour to get to the Messe.
This one (specially now, when we got known other ways too) you can get there in 20 minutes and still not too far from the city center.
Actually I really liked this hotel, even it looks from outside that it needs a face-lift.
Inside is nice, the rooms are great: small, but just the shape you would like, perfectly livable, very clean.
Breakfast is usually good in Germany, but here it is excellent (even the "Tiffany room" and interiour design a bit of a kitsch).
Internet is a bit pricey, but seems to be the same like in every hotel in Germany.
Overall we liked it and will stay again here for the next expo.

I stayed at this hotel in April, 2007. It was easy to locate off the autobahn, Efnerstrasse is a main thoroughfare and is well signed.
The neighbourhood is largely residential, with offices nearby. The subway station is about a 20 minute walk, but may be a bit far for those who don't walk or exercise much. The area is very pedestrian friendly, wide sidewalks and walk lights at intersections. There is a bakery, coffee shop and small grocer (with fresh fruit and veggies) within an easy stroll.
The hotel room was smaller than what we're used to in North America, but it's neat and compact--- no wasted space. Clean. Large windows that open. Helpful staff. Great selection at the breakfast buffet in the diningroom. Quaint pub that serves a variety of German and American foods that were delicious. The beer was cold and tasty.
A nice place to stay, esp. for business travellers.

We stayed here at Oktoberfeat time 2007. (Sept 24 - 26 ) The hotel itself is a little tired and older looking on the outside but the interior was very nice. Our room was a Bavarian deluxe ( mini suite) with a 4 post wooden bed, wood lined walls and a seperate sitting area. We were very comfortable and happy. I emailed ahead and had flowers and wine on ice in the room for our arrival (50 euro extra). The staff was great and even included a fruit basket and chocolates for us in that price. Everything about the hotel including the room was spotless clean. Breakfast was very good with anything a person could ask for. The metro was about 3/4 of a mile from the hotel though a residental area but with a bakery on the way, we stoped and had a treat and a beer on our way to Oktoberfest. We took taxis back from Oktoberfest There is a gas station/ mini mart right next store to the hotel for snacks and beer. Other then the mini mart and bakery there is not much else too close to this hotel. There are restaurants a mile from the hotel on the main street. Overall I would give this hotel a rating of A- only because the distants to the metro other then that it was great.

I was here for 1 night for a brief Munich visit. The other posters are correct that it is a bit out of the way, but the facilities are quite nice. I would say slightly larger than the average European hotel room and clean. It is very much average in other respects so not much to say.

This hotel is simply far away from everything in Munich. It's quite a long walk to the next metro and by taxi it's about 20 mins (12-14 EUROs) to the centre of Munich. If you are willing to stay that far away from the centre there are plenty of better alternatives.

The room I stayed in was very small but clean. The bed was very comfortable. Curtains block light very well, but I heard lots of noise from the corridor.

Staff was as polite as necessary but not exceptional. All in all the hotel is pretty average but too expensive for what is offered.

This hotel was a some distance away from "downtown" Munich. It was a bit of a pain to get to the train station (about 20-25 minute walk). Overall it was clean and had that Holiday Inn feel to it.

I stayed at this hotel on business. I have no idea why the agents chose this hotel, as it was miles ( 30 minutes drive ) from the office and a long way from the city centre. However this was not the fault of the hotel, and may have been due to Octoberfest meaning a lot of hotels were full.

The hotel was OK but not great. The room was tiny, with the double bed pushed up against the wall, so you could not walk round the bed ( and ony 50 cm down the side not against the wall). The room was clean, and the airconditioning was good. However there is quite a main road outside and I could hear the traffic noise all night. I was also woken by revellers returning from Octoberfest at 4 a.m. ( and there vomit was still in the hallway when I went to breakfast at 8 a.m. ).

The staff was fine and the breakfast buffet was good. However I very much doubt I will stay here again as there are lots of better hotels in this city.
