Le Meridien Munich is a stunning hotel and their newly renovated guestrooms are beautiful. I was generously upgraded to a Junior Suite, which was enormous and very chicly decorated (I love their new design for the rooms!). As it was my Anniversary, the hotel provided a lovely welcome amenity – a bottle of fine wine and a personalized cake. The entire staff was wonderfully accommodating and extremely helpful during our stay.

Wonderful, responsive and friendly staff -- couldn't be better. Beautiful rooms -- the ones we got were recently renovated in a very attractive and luxury-feel style. Perfect location, across from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), which has lots of shops and plenty of places to get good, inexpensive food (a small market, a food court, etc.). We never at at the hotel restaurant (too expensive); just popped across the street for whatever we needed (including a Starbucks, if you're looking for one).

Our rooms were very large and well-appointed (separate glass shower, deep bathtub, desk, table, comfortable chair, etc.).

Internet is expensive: €9 for a hour, €21 for 24 hours, or €36 for 24 hours, which included all the pay-per-view movies you could handle. Prices at the spa, on the other hand, seemed pretty reasonable -- €65 for a scrub and wrap, €45 for a 30 minute massage, etc. Make a reservation, though -- I was hoping for a last-minute treatment and they were booked.

Excellent hotel. Arrived late on Friday night & had to wait a short time to register as there was only one receptionist on duty but he compensated by upgrading us to an executive room. We had requested a quiet room away from traffic noise & this was provided. Very helpful staff. Breakfast was also great with plenty of choice. The only thing missing was tea/coffee making facilities in the room & as we had an executive suite this was surprising. Good location, only 10 minutes walk from the city centre with a U-bahn stop right outside the hotel if needed.

Stayed here during Oktoberfest. The staff were quite friendly, in their German way. Decor is standard Meridien: modern, but not too abstract, mildly trendy, but still a traditional full-service hotel. Fantastic location, especially for Oktoberfest, being within walking distance of the Wiesn (fairgrounds for the beer tents) and 5 mins by foot into the main inner city. Also if travelling by train, the location is unbeatable, as it's right across the station.

The rooms were again standard le Meridien, meaning airy, functional, modern and siding towards minimalist. Think light coloured wood, with touches of metallic and earthy/brown toned fabrics (sheets/chairs etc).

Despite all the goings on of Oktoberfest (reception and concierge staff were in Dirndls and Lederhosen), the staff were all attentive and friendly. Concierge were able to arrange tickets at many of the beergardens despite many of them being sold out nominally, and was useful on providing recommendations for bars, clubs etc for whatever mood we were in. Bar staff also equally friendly, with a half decent scene going on there, as well.

Will certainly be staying here again for work and for Oktoberfest 2010.

Just back from 3 night stay in le meridien. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back to this hotel. Le Meridien is really well located across the road from the main train station. Our room looked out at the station. However, we never heard any train noise. The staff were really friendly and helpful and all spoke good english. We arrived several hours before check in and the friendly staff checked us in and took our bags. The room was ready a short time later. Our room was a standard room it was clean, comforable and had plenty of space. The bathroom was also clean and had a separate shower and bath. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel and had extensive cooked and cold sections. The hotel's leisure centre is well worth a visit and when we were there it was practically deserted. The proximity to the train station means is handy if you want to use the trains etc - we went to Salzburg and would recommend this. It is also very handy as there are reasonably priced shops open all hours right beside the hotel if you want to buy some drinks etc.

I had a great stay at the Meridien for a boys weekend at Oktoberfest. Loved the location. It was a short walk to (and stumble back) from the Oktoberfest grounds/ We took a day trip to Regensburg (which was great) and the location of the Hautbahnof across the street made for easy access to the trains. The access to a Starbucks and other cheap eats was great too. We walked to the main sites in town (Marionplatz, English Gardens etc..) or easily took a subway when that wasn't available. It also made for easy train access to and from airport.

Never ate at the hotel. most of our eating took place late night, after a visit to the tents. Access to pretty good late night fare in the fast food outlets next to the hotel was a definite bonus. The bar was pretty good for late night drinks - nothing spectacular though.

Room was decently sized by German standards with all the modern touches. Very clean and the cleaning staff was always there to help. The front desk staff was really helpful despite the throngs of people usually waiting.

Did not find the hotel noisy nor did I notice any particular concentration of "arabs" as posted in earlier reviews.

Can't really comment on the general value as we got an awesome Starwood internet deal months before our stay.
