I had business in Munich, but arrived for the last 2 days of Oktoberfest. Le Meridien was walking distance to the Festival grounds and it's location across from the train station made everything that much more convenient. The staff was very warm and welcoming, even though they were overwhelmed with activity. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Not the largest rooms, but adequate. Our room was looking into the courtyard, so street noise wasn't an issue (I suspect it could be if you're over the street). The bar and restaurants were fine (I ate off property for the most part, but did have breakfast each morning). Lots of good shopping and dining within walking distance.

Room tip: Ask for courtyard facing room.

Dear Bill A,

we are really happy to hear that we fulfilled your wishes and needs during your stay for the Octoberfest. Indeed our great location is perfect for guests who like to explore the city with all its shopping and dining areas by foot, but also the Octoberfest can be reached easily by foot!

Despite the central location, our rooms are very calm and of course our inner couryard is, weather the trees are covered with snow or the fountain gurgles in the summer, a feast for the eye and ear. Hopefully we may welcome you back very soon!

Having stayed at other Le Meridien hotels in Europe, I chose this one for its location next to the central hauptbahnhof; not necessarily for the experience. The Sofitel stay before was hard to beat but I am not a creature of routine. I was to have an excellent surprise of a 4 night business and leisure stay.
I was genuinely struck at the sincere service and a desire to please. This is quite unlike a lot of places now where customer service is an interruption and seen as a chore. Well done Michele at the reception. Also a mention to the chap at concierge (sorry I did not catch your name on your badge due to very intimate lighting) who gave pragmatic advice for a train to Salzburg for a day.
Pats on the back all round.

Stayed here for one night in Jan-13. Room very spacious and modern. One issue that I had was that the wi-fi didn't enable secure token access so work email was unavailable. That said, the lady at reception kindly agreed to waiver the small Internet access fee. A very nice gesture. The only other small issue was that the shower door didn't close properly. Only a short walk to the main shopping precinct and the doorman was most helpful with directions. Overall a very enjoyable stay!

The locaiton of the hotel is simply perfect - you make by walk the center of the city, you are a few meters from the main rail way station (direct train to the airport).
The room has enough space; simple and nice decoration. Sleeping is absolutely comfortable. Only one point : the king size bed was composed of 2 twins... could be not convenient enough )) You have a bath and a shower in the bathroom - very useful!
The breakfast was amazing - large choice, fresh food...
I liked the bar downstairs - cozy atmosphere and very good service.
Definitely to advise!

Initially chosen as my lodging for the 2012 Munich Kristkindlmarkets because it was part of the Marriott franchise, I quickly realized that this comfortable hotel would be ideal for enjoying all of Munich's wonders. Easy walking distance to the Marienplatz made strolling through the Christmas Markets a pedestrian pleasure. An equally easy walk in another direction in autumn would land one in the Octoberfest Park. Since it is just a block from the train station, excursions to other German citys would be a snap. Also a short walk to the subway and other areas of Munich itself. I highly recommend taking the subway to BMW Welt and Factory tour. Who can resist walking among and climbing into all those gorgeous BMW's and Mini's?
Back to the hotel: It is sleek, clean and comfortable. The staff are attentive and helpful. It is everything you need it to be. Especially since you're going to be out and about most of the time anyway!

Room tip: Rooms on the courtyard are quieter.
