Paid overinflated room rate during Oktoberfest. Fantastic location - just across the Theresienwiese grounds, where it's easy to go out, get wasted and crawl back to the hotel. Anytime, everyday on Oktoberfest. S & U Bahn are 5-10min if you want to reach other sites in Munich, well, for some sightseeing.

Hotel itself is old and needs refurbishment - including the not so helpful guy receptionists. Floor creaks when you walk by. Free breakfast is sufficient - hot and cold. We booked a triple room and it was on the first floor. It's huge by European standards. Our window is directly overlooking the Oktoberfest ground and can get noisy but after consuming your 3rd liter of beer, who cares?

Free internet is limited - only one access/account for 3 people! Which is problematic when all of your mates want to post their drunken pics on Facebook at the same time!

On any other occasion I would choose another hotel but for Oktoberfest, just great.

Parking Tip: Theresienhoehe is closed during Oktoberfest but you can park on the streets close by. We're lucky to find parking during our stay just a block away. 6 Euros covers 24 hrs.

Location wasn't bad. Right outside of Theresienwiese Park where Ocktoberfest normally is held. However, during our stay there, it was some kind of international food festival going on. It was fairly quiet but could hear people talking outside since our window faced the street. It was also a quick 3 minute walk to get to the Theresienwiese train stop, where you can get to other spots in Munich.

This seems like a older hotel. No elevators, so good luck if you have heavy bags like we did. The floors are hardwood throughout the hotel so every movement you made created noise. Our room had fairly high ceilings which probably didn't help with the echoing. The room was a bit drafty with the cold winter air coming through the window cracks but turning up the heater fixed that.

Breakfast at the hotel was fairly good. Nice continental breakfast in the little room off the lobby. Good selection of meats, cheeses, bread, pastries, fruits and cereals.

WiFi was a little tricky at times. They gave us one WiFi login for our room and we had 3 people in it. Only one person could use the WiFi at a time with the login and they seemed a little reluctant when we asked for additional logins.

Probably would pick a more modern/updated hotel if I'm ever in Munich again.

paid 120+ euros per night for the intersolar 2012 exhibition days which was the biggest let down. if not for it; it is a nice quaint place with the rooms decent and spacious. the breakfast spread is good and the place just 15 minute walking distance from munchen HBF. nothing fancy though. no additional amenities or room service as well.

Room Tip: good choice when there is no big events around; else book in advance

we booked this hotel based on the photos etc shown on website. the site turned out to be overlooking the theresienwiese park, which is just a large semi surfaced space, and not really a park. the hotel was a lot less well maintained than shown in pictures. it also turned out to be a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel. there were no meals available and when we asked for a cup of tea, the receptionist was shocked that we could even ask for one! but eventually, we were given one.
bedrooms were comfortable. but when we asked for a small bed for our 4 year old handicapped grandchild, we were told that that it was normal for such a child to sleep in the bed with their parents. we had in fact asked for one when booking two months earlier.
altogether, a disappointing visit.

The hotel is in very good location near the theresienwiese park (octoberfest place) and 5 min walk to the U train station. Only one stop from Munich Central station (Hauptbanhauf) and two stops from Karlsplatz and walking via neuhauser street (like la Rabla) you are in Marienplatz the center of Munich. Now about the hotel. We stay in second floor and the hotel is without elevator. It is old fashion hotel like traditional houses with wooden floor in the rooms. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are large. The breakfast is good and the breakfast room very beautiful with nice view to the park and last the staff is very friendly and helpful.
With bayern ticket 29 euros (2-5 person) we went in one day to Regensburg and after to Nuremberg and coming back at night. The next day with other bayern ticket we went to Salzburg Austria. The bavarian train system is very easy and you can go anywhere from the Central Station to any bavarian town or other place.

Room Tip: Rooms in front of the hotel have view to the park.

The manager of the hotel would not give me a confirmation of my reservation and room price.
Then when my son asked him about the rate he quoted him Euro 10.00 more.
I dislike dishonest people.
When I asked him about the safe in my room, he said that he would show me how to open it.
When I asked him again the next day, he said that it was broken. Actually every room had a broken safe. Why lie?

Only one stop from the Hauptbahnnhauf, this hotel has three accommodations. The Park Hotel farther away and the pension in downtown doesn't seem all that nice. Located at the Theresienwiese station, it is about a 5 - 10 minute walk up a sloping hill next to a giant field/parking lot and on a larger street. Relatively quiet, this hotel offers a nice breakfast for about 5 Euros extra. The staff is friendly, but make sure you do your own research. The manager told us that all the museums were closed for the Christmas weekend (25th and 26th). A stop at the tourist information in downtown told us otherwise. A half dozen were open on the 25th and almost all of the museums were open on the 26th. The safes in at least two of the rooms do not work. When we asked the manager, he said it was because the battery was low. In both rooms, the safe digital display told us otherwise - battery HIGH. He never bothered to fix them. He was professional, friendly, but also defensive. However, I would recommend this hotel for it's price and the breakfast.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem pretty spacious.
