Clean rooms, good breakfast menu, but too much noise from the street comes to the rooms especially in the morning, the prices are OK but that's not everything, some people of the staff have a hard time saying hello

the SmartStay hotel is located in ~7-10 min. on foot from Hauptbahnhof (main station), easy to reach all downtown amenities and restaurants. The room is small, warm (well heated in the winter time) and clean.
Room WI-FI access is inexpensive (2 EUR per 24 hours), but works pretty bad.

Room Tip: if you need a better wi-fi access, ask for the room near the elevator (floor entrance)

Close the main station (Hauptbahnhof), and short walk to Sendlinger Tor and Marienplatz, and the Theresienwiese (where the Oktoberfest is held). Rooms were comfortable, though basic. WiFi (2 Euro for 24 hrs), was great in the reception area but absolutely useless in the room. Showers could do with replacing curtains with a door.
Will use again

This hotel doesn't appear to be in the nicest of areas, with some rather sketchy looking characters walking/loitering around.   The check-in person seems to have missed the day of Reception school where they taught you not to announce your room number for all and sundry to hear, especially when it seems like you're not in the nicest area of town and some of those characters are behind you in the lobby listening.

That being said, the deadbolt on the door didn't latch all the way, the carpet was filthy and the room rather utilitarian.  The faucets and shower were mounted on the side wall of the bathtub which made having a shower a bit of a contortionist act. No safe or fridge. Apparently our door wasn't the only one with a deadbolt that didn't latch as someone else was slamming and re-slamming their door repeatedly at 1 am. I would not return to this place.  To its credit, I didn't spot any bedbugs - which believe me, I'm slightly paranoic about.

The photos provided here by the hotel do not accurately reflect the condition of the room we got.

Room Tip: Avoid the second floor as noise emanates from the grocer below. Also avoid rooms facing the main str...

Hotel Schweiz was very clean and perfect enough for the price! It is in a decent location - very close to the train station but all the main attractions are a little bit of a walk. The front desk was very nice although not as eager to provide us with suggestions on tours, food, etc. as some of the other hotels we stayed at during our trip. For 5 Euro, you can get unlimited WiFi for 5 days. Breakfast is NOT included but is there for about 6.50 Euro/pp I believe. We had breakfast one day and it was very good! The room as I mentioned was clean but it is very small. The bathroom is also very small. We were there for three days and it was not a problem for two of us but something worth mentioning.

For the price, the location and cleanliness is well worth it!!

The hotel is very basic hotel and it good for those who are looking for a bed, and nothing more.
The price for a night for double is 60 Euro, and for single 55 Euro.
The price incl. WIFI and no breakfast that thecharge for it is 6.5 Euro.
Location is near the Trin Mian station, for good and for worse.

So if you are travelling on a budget, or looking for a place to put your head for a night, it can suit you.

We went to Munich for work and funds were tight, so we just wanted some rooms near the Central Station that were basic, clean and had their own bathrooms.

The Hotel Schweiz is located on a slightly dodgy-looking street, about 5 minutes' walk from the station. We checked in at 1am though, and most streets look dodgy at that time of night. The first impression was that lobby smelt strangely of fish. This was really the only negative point though.

The single rooms here were tiny (not a surprise - the photos on the website accurately illustrated this) but very well designed. They had a desk, wardrobe, TV, shelf to put your suitcase, convenient sockets to plug your phone in on the bedside table, and a small but immaculate bathroom with a good, powerful shower. Exactly what you need really.

Wifi was €1 per hour, or €5 for 5 days. No-brainer really. The signal strength was fairly weak in our part of the hotel, and it was quite slow, but good enough for checking email etc.

I didn't notice any street noise at night, but the walls to the corridors are quite thin so you could potentially be woken by other guests.

The reception staff and cleaners we spoke to were friendly and helpful, and all spoke English.

It's definitely not luxurious, but for the price, location and cleanliness, I would definitely consider staying here again.
