My mother and I stayed here for 3 nights during June of 2015. We were touring Europe celebrating her retirement and she had wanted to "splurge" on a hotel for one of our cities. I chose the Platzl and I have never been more happy.

The location of the hotel is great, right near the Marienplatz, within easy walking of any of the fabulous public transportation options in Munich. We used the S, and U-bahn frequently to get around to both Nymphenburg and the Englischer Gardens with ease. The Hofbrau-haus is right next door, so you may have a noisy neighbor, but our room was on the 5th floor directly above it and we never had difficulty sleeping.

The facilities are amazing, the breakfast buffet in the morning is simply stunning, I wish I had access to it every morning. The workout area is a bit odd, and the bar is fairly small, with a limited amount of beer on tap, but you've got tons of options right around you in the streets.

The service was impeccable, with the front desk staff remembering us each time we passed them and being a great help with questions about things like finding another SD card for our camera and eating out recommendations.

Wifi was high speed and accessible all over.
I would LOVE to stay here again.

The hotel is good, facilities are OK. It is kind of a Business Hotel with a PERFECT location. It is a few blocks away from Marienplatz, Hofbräuhaus etc. If you want to make a quick visit to Munich in a comfortable and nice hotel, this is your option.

You know you are in the heart of the city when you open your hotel room door upon arrival and hear the peel of all the Sunday bells at all the churches in the area...and then after a fascinating walking tour of the city you return to your hotel room to sleep and you nod off to a neighboring concert pianist practicing with a gorgeous choir! It was quite the heavenly experience and quite frankly it fit so nicely with the wonderful ambiance and stay at this hotel. From the moment I checked in to the early morning departure two days later, the staff was attentive and the service was excellent. It is such a charming, intimate, family-feeling hotel literally just steps from the Old Residence, City Hall, St. Peter's and more. Its central location, high quality features and A+ staff made my trip to Munich a memorable experience.
