We stayed here for Oktoberfest 2012, and wish we had done the same in 2013. This property is close to a big train station, but is not right in the middle of the city center. It was an easy ride by train from the airport. The room was very well appointed and we especially enjoyed the beautiful breakfast every morning. We are big on walking, and this hotel is close enough to enjoy many sights on foot.

We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott Munich City Ost while visiting Muich for 5 days /4 nights in August. The hotel is not in center city Munich, but it is close to the train station. I recommend buying a multi-day pass which allows you to get around the city on a very efficient metro system. The room was immaculate and well maintained. Although breakfast was listed as continental, it was an extensive breakfast buffet that included eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage. For healthier options they also offered fresh fruit and yogurt. Every front desk staff member we encountered was wonderful. They were friendly and helpful. We also visited two local restaurants, the Lisbon Bar and an Italian restaurant that were reasonably prices and had good food. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Munich.

my family have just returned from staying 3 nights at this hotel. It is very clean, the staff are all so friendly and helpful and the breakfast is amazing - it offers; continental, fresh fruit, pastries and a cooked breakfast eat as much as you like, brilliant as it fills you up till lunch! The evening menu is restricted but again great value for money if you choose to eat in rather than on your way back form the City. The hotel is really easy to find if you come in on the S8 or S1 from the airport. just come out of the underground have the main train station in front of you and then walking left down a long straight road you cannot miss the hotel on the left hand side. Travelling around Munich is really easy especially on the underground it cost 11 euros 20 for upto 5 people in zones 1-4 (which is really all you will need) for the whole day.
If you are lost the Munich residents are only to happy to help you - they are all so friendly and helpful a far cry from those that you experience on all inclusive holidays!!
Within the local area of the hotel there are 3 banks including Santandar and a few restaurants although we did not use them there are also shops in the train station and a great Lidl's just around the corner from the hotel.

This city is a Must and please stay at this hotel it is brilliant.

This clean, efficient hotel welcomed us for our jet-lagged morning arrival, with no delay for a room. Although our room was relatively small and faced the street on a low floor, it was surprisingly quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was just wonderful, with nice pastries and fabulous Bavarian sausages. Really no complaints at all about the staff or the facility. The location is a short walk to the Ostbahnhof station with trains running every few minutes. We purchased a 3-day pass, but no one ever checked our tickets. The train system is the very model of German efficiency, and it was easy getting around. A great experience all around.

Recently stayed for 1 night before an onward journey and this is a really nice hotel.
We were allocated a family room which had a kitchen, living area and a huge bathroom and shower.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was very nice.
Train station is about a 10 minute walk and then it is 3 stops to the city centre.
Rooms were very quiet and the beds very confortable.

Room Tip: Book a family room as this is the same price but bigger than normal rooms.

I spent three nights in the Residence Inn in Munich. It is right next door to the Courtyard Marriot and they share a restaurant and bar. Our room was clean, comfortable and a good size. Breakfasts were fantastic with lots of choices from their buffet. This hotel is located very close to a train station (Bahnhof Ost) so it was very easy to access the rest of the city. The staff was friendly and recommended a great restaurant just down the street which we really enjoyed.
