“A really good place....”
Reviewed October 18, 2009

Was a bit worried about the "gentlemen's club" comments in reviews - however really didnt notice them - so ignore them - it's a safe neighborhood. Good value hotel.. Rooms are a bit intimate, small, but comfortable with LCD TV, desk area, and great shower.

Located near the main train station and subway stop, as well as a couple of beer halls. Also nice is a small market store two doors down to get stuff to munch on.

Overall, a decent place with great and helpful staff. Make sure you understand how the electricity works in the room with your cardkey.... (not a negative... but unique feature...)

Stayed here for two nights for a conference in Munich. The hotel rooms are very romantic in the styling, I must say that I found it rather amusing - it is a bit too much for my taste.

Seen aside from this, the room was very standard in size and amenities. There were a 32 inch tv (only CNN, BBC P and MTV in english), coffee maker (Nespresso - Nice) and a safe. The bathroom was kind of small, but it worked fine. The bed was OK, but I've tried better - for a 4-star hotel i would expect more.

The breakfast was good, with a big variety of cold and hot dishes as well as fruit and waffles.

The location is great, just two blocks from the Central station. You should know though, that the old town center is actually arount Marien Platz station, two stops from the main station. You can walk or take the train, and for public transportation it is perfect.

All-in-all a good hotel, but probably not the best 4-star in Munich.

I did enjoy this hotel, It would need a bit of a touch up here and there but it is very central and the staff are very helpfull. The downside id the internet, too expensive!!!

I went to a coffee place aound the corned for much cheaper.

The hotel was nice and confy I wouldn't complaint about it and the rate are very good.

I was on a business trip so I do not really know much about the city.

Good job anyway. will be back

We stayed at this hotel for almost two weeks and can't find anything bad to say. The room was slightly larger than the normal European room. The hotel was located within walking distance of everything and the staff was always friendly and helpful. There is a very quaint bar in the lobby and the pretzels they serve are irresistible. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Munich.

Perfect location if you take the train or a bus to get to the center of Munich. This hotel was in 2 blocks of the train station. A supermarket is down the street as well as a great bakery. Staff was always helpful. I wanted to check on the weather and they helped. Gave us great information for the Oktoberfest. At the end of the long day, the bar was a great place to socialize. Close to the walking part of the city with lots of great shopping. Would stay in this hotel again.

I stayed in a double room for four nights with a friend during Oktoberfest. The room had two twin beds, was spotless and well maintained. Amenities were minimal - there's liquid hand soap and shower gel, but no bars of soap. The bath towels were small. WIth two, our room got stuffy, but we were on the first floor above the lobby and when we opened the window we heard a lot of noise from the street.

On the bright side there is a Nespresso machine so you can make yourself a free espresso each morning, We had the buffet breakfast the last day - it is well worth the 15 euros charged. The make your own waffles are especially nice - tasty and delicate. If you want a less expesnive breakfast there is a Konditorei across the street and to the left that is pretty good. The hotel is close to the Hauptbahnhof, museum district and Marienplatz. All of these are about a ten minute walk.

There are a variety of Middle Eastern restaurants right on the block, as well as the aforementioned clubs.

There is a "relaxarium" on our floor with sauna and lounge chairs. Staff were polite and competent. I felt secure in the hotel and used the mini-safe for valuables.

My only real compalint is the price about $400 a night during Oktoberfest - for a small double. . I suppose if the dollar were stronger it would have been in the high $200s. From the other comments I am guessing it would run about $250 when it is not Oktoberfest. At that price it is acceptable.

I was travelling on my own and wanted to stay in a better hotel to make myself feel more comfortable and safe. I got everything I wanted from King's Hotel First Class. The location is fantastic - only steps away from the main train station, which is also a major transportation hub in terms of U-Bahns and S-Bahns. I was a bit nervous reading reviews of the hotel before arrival because the area was mentioned as being questionable due to the presence of a strip club or two, but I didn't really notice them, to be honest, and the area felt safe at all times of the day, with many diverse restaurants and useful stores in the area (the presence of an affordable grocery store and an internet cafe were great in particular). The hotel and rooms are decorated in a beautiful traditional Bavarian style, and my room was beautifully furnished, very new and clean and extremely comfortable. The service was good as well. I would most definitely recommend this to anyone and would not hesitate to stay here again the next time I'm in Munich.
