I have stayed in Munich multiple times, and by far this was the nicest hotel I have ever been at. Large rooms (even by european standards) were quiet, with comfortable beds and is in a very convenient neighborhood. The Oktoberfest grounds are only a ten minute walk away, and it is also close to the train station. The breakfast, wow, the breakfast was absolutely amazing. The largest selection of food, hot and cold, and amazing breads, it was a great start to the morning. The staff was attentive and polite, and even had breakfast ready for us when we had to leave early one day. The hotel bar (BarVaria) was great, excellent local beers on tap (Augustiner!!) and nice staff. Its a little pricey, but totally worth it. We will definitely be back to stay at Hotel Bavaria again!

We've stayed here a couple of times over the years and always have an enjoyable experience. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is delicious, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the location is close to the U- and S-Bahns. The rooms on the street can be noisy, but you can always request a room facing the courtyard if you're a light sleeper.

A few minor things: The wi-fi is lousy. They use MeinHotSpot which constantly kicks you off and requires logging in. It makes doing anything useful online painful. And note that this place is really close to the Oktoberfest grounds making it a popular place for party-goers to stay (myself included). Just note that during the festival there's a good chance you'll have a bunch of loud drunks coming in late making a good night sleep a bit dicey. It's nothing against the hotel, just more of an FYI. Overall, I really like this hotel and do recommend it to others wanting to stay on this side of town.

Stayed at Hotel Bavaria for three nights to explore Munich with my boyfriend. The hotel was easy to find and well located being just a short walk from a U-Bahn station which is just one stop from the main hauptbahnhof - handy for getting around the city.

The room was a pretty good size for a main city hotel (having stayed in very small rooms in other European cities) was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was two single beds pushed together which is common and never ideal but, more unusually, had two separate duvets as well. I like to steal and hog more than my fair share of duvet at night so my boyfriend was delighted with this unusual bed set-up however, this might not be for everyone. Breakfast had a good selection with a few more options than some other continental hotels.

The area around the hotel was quite quiet and felt safe and there were some quite nice restaurants which felt quite a lot more 'local' than some of the more touristy places around Marienplatz. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel for exploring Munich.

This is an excellent hotel for holiday or business. The decor is fresh and modern, the rooms are spotless and the hotel staff are friendly and efficient. Buffet breakfast has everything you could possibly want charmingly served. I cannot fault anything about this hotel. The restaurant recommendations in their literature led us to a fantastic beer hall - full of locals- where we has great fun and great food. Stay here - you won't be disappointed. Fantastic location for Oktoberfest. Good for public transport also easily walkable to old town.

We stayed at the Hotel Bavaria for 3 nights as part of our holiday in Germany in August, and had a wonderful stay. We would not hesitate to return.

Our rooms was very modern, spacious and well designed. Same can be said for the bathroom, which was also home to a very powerful shower (a must after a busy day sight-seeing!). The free-wifi was a bonus too, as was the absolutely wonderful breakfast we received every morning, I have always been a bit uncomplimentary about continental breakfasts, but this hotel has completely changed my mind. In fact, the best part of my whole stay in Munich was breakfast at the hotel. Wonderful!

Every member of staff was so friendly and helpful, and took a real interest in helping us to enjoy our stay. Why aren't all hotels like this?! Well done!!!

** Just remembered, the only possible downside I can think of about the hotel is its location. Unlike other reviewers, we can't find much to recommend in the 'Westend' (the part of town in which the hotel was located). We struggled a bit for bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, though there is a great beer garden and restaurant near the giant statue of Bavaria in the park. I really wouldn't let this put you off though, as the U-Bahn is five minutes walk away and will whisk you quickly in to town. **
