“Nice Hotel withva few flaws”

This hotel has nice rooms, great location, nice breakfast and great staff. Even the major construction work taking place in the back yard wasn't a problem. However, the aircon in the room cannot be set lower than 20 degrees and the inflatable matresses just didn't work for us. We had the impression that we were lying on the top of a hill and were on the verge of rolling off. Last small point was that the keycard didn't work so we had to use a key which was not easy to turn in the lock. The free beers and water was a bonus, but it would have been nice if the staff had remembered to fill up the fridge every day so we could have benefitted from this feature of the hotel. But overall a positive experience and we would recommend this hotel to others.

We spent four days in Munich, and really liked the location of this hotel: a quick walk from the train station, Rathaus, Viktualienmarkt, and much more. Throw a stone, and you will hit a Biergarten. The room was small, but very well set up; there was even a tiny kitchen, hidden behind a panel, complete with sink, microwave, electric kettle, and a small counter space. There is a work station (desk) and we even had two bean bag chairs to relax in.

The bed was typical European-style, with a twist: It was a "sleep number" type bed, with each side having a control. I really wanted to like it, but I actually hated it! I found it mushy and lumpy, with a weird sort of squishy feel to it...and could not find a setting that worked for me. Too soft, it felt lumpy, and too hard it felt lumpy. No win situation. By the time we left, my neck and back were so sore, I was ready to sleep on the floor :(

The buffet breakfast was good, if not very varied from day to day. Pastries, yogurt, fruit, cereals, eggs, juice, coffee...all the usual suspects present & accounted for, lol!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but I might think twice about staying there again because of the bed. If you are a "bulletproof" sleeper, go for it! You won't regret it.

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed! The room, the staff, the location, the breakfast ,the bed were excellent
Coffee and tea were availiable 24/7, complimentary water and beer were really nice surprise
Feel sorry for the other guests who had to suffer because of the building works, but it's not a hotel's fault
We definitely will be back there

This hotel is centrally located and you have to get a room at the FRONT of the hotel if you go or do not stay there unless you can sleep though building works!! There is a whacking great construction site behind the hotel with cranes, and noise from 6.00 am on weekdays (not sure what time on Saturday but it was certainly going strong when we checked in late morning and did not stop until 5.00pm). It does however stop on Sundays, but that was when families of Arabs seemed to congregate all in the room next to us and make lots of noise until the wee small hours! - I eventually had to go and bang on the window via the fire escape (which would cut your feet to shreds in the event of a fire, or try to bang on a next door rooms window!) - which gave the women a shock but did the trick .....

We changed rooms to the front and had a VERY NICE TIME and a well located hotel but as I say choose your room with care!

Room Tip: Choose a room at the front!

The staff were professional and greeted us each day. We stayed for a week during our vacation in Munich this summer. The complementary breakfast was good and the cold beers and waters in the frig each day were greatly appreciated and a good touch. Coffee and tea and water were available on the ground-floor at all times. The beds were comfortable and the firmness/softness could be adjusted for each individual taste. There were lots of TV channels and an exercise room and internet connection were offered. The location is fantastic. Only a few minutes from the Main Square Marienplatz and it is a half-minute to the V. Market. The facility was clean and modern.

The only problem is that the rooms are hot in the summer - in Munich this August, the temperature reached over 30 degrees C. some days. One must open the window, and for some the noise from the restaurants can be bothersome - they do quiet down around midnight though. The air-conditioning systems is actually a pipe-cooling system, not traditional air-conditioning. Even the kitchen and receptionist staff had to have the windows/doors open during the day.Too bad they invested in a system that doesn't really work. Additionally the bean-bag chairs instead of traditional chairs are a cute design feature, but are not really comfortable for adults to sit in.

Despite the air conditioning situation, I would still come back to this hotel if I ever should return to Munich - just not in August! :-) (Do keep in mind that many hotels in Germany do not have air conditioning.)

Room Tip: Perhaps try a room away from the street? There is construction going on there still, but perhaps tho...

Dear Guest,

many thanks for your detailed review.

Please excuse the warm conditions during your stay. We unfortunately had a small problem with our solar-thermal plant. Now everything is fixed :)

Hope to see you soon

this hotel was booked for me by the city of Munich hosting a conference at which I was one of the speakers. The city not securing its booking with a credit card, the hotel felt it necessary to cancel the reservation after I failed to arrive prior to 4 PM. I did arrive 1 at AM and had a nasty argument with the nighttime staff who told me that they neither had a reservation or a room for me. Only "coincidentally", I was offered an available room, happening to be their ownly wheelchair-accessible room which earlier was exactly the one the city had tried to reserve. So if you book this hotel do make sure you guarantee your room with a credit card and take a printout of the confirmation with you in order to avoid hassels with uninformed late night staff. The room itself was very modern and had an excellent bed, a bathroom with ample wheelchair space and a "roll-in" shower as well as a small kitchenette. There is no suitable shower seat or chair. Some areas in the hotel are very small and quite narrow, so for wheelchair users it is not the most convenient place. There is 1 step at the entrance. I arrived during a heat wave and the air conditioning wasn't fully coping. Breakfast was okay, a bit more choice would have been nice.

Room Tip: wheelchair guests should note there is 1 adapted room with suitable bathroom. The hotel's overal...

This isn't really an 'apartment' hotel, as the kitchenette is tiny, and it is all in one room. However, everything is new, it is clean, the staff are friendly, breakfast is free, it is in a great location, and it is much bigger than an ordinary hotel room. Plus they give you 2 free beers and 2 free waters each day.
We were given a room up on the 6th and top floor, which has an angled ceiling because of the roof. I presume this makes the room bigger than others, but I still managed to hit my head once!
The oil beds were very good, but unfortunately my side didn't work properly. Staff were very obliging, and when they were unable to fix it, offered to change us to another room. We had already unpacked everything, so we stayed, and the bed was fixed the next day.
We had a late evening flight, and we were able to wait a few hours in the breakfast room, where we could have coffee or water.
Breakfast was okay- hey it was free, so you can't complain! One tip - go early, because there are only about 10 tables, and we saw people queuing up one morning when we were going out.
