The hotel is located about a 10-min walk to the Munich East train station which has very good access to Marienplatz. There is also a tram right across the hotel but it doesn't go directly into the city center. The train station has a Lidl if you want essentials. 20 EUR for underground parking and you cna get a multi-use plastic card from the front desk.
We drove here and check-in took a while as there was a line. We weren't able to make out if the Elite line really was for Elite members only since the desk staff made no effort to ask or segregate. In any case, we're Silver's and they must have a lot of Gold's and Platinum's here because Silver's basically have no benefits. At much more expensive Marriott's I've been offered free wifi and an upgrade but no such thing here. Slow lobby wifi as everyone else. We had a toddler and we got the room farthest from the elevator. With a baby cot there was not a lot of room. No bathtub and they told us they didn't have other rooms with king beds with bathtubs - only 2 twin bed rooms.
The room service lady came in the morning before we'd left so we asked her to come back later. In the afternoon we came back and our room wasn't done so my wife told the front desk again while we were stepping out. At night we get back and the room still isn't done. No fresh towels etc. We called and they sent fresh towels up promptly and then we got a call that the room wasn't done because of the Do Not Disturb sign. We had clearly left the sign on the inside handle and we'd made a call explicitly to have the room cleaned up!
We did a load of laundry in the neighbouring Residence Inn and our card wouldn't work in the laundry room so we had to ask the front desk to accompany us down. The person at the Residence Inn front desk was most helpful.
We would pay more money or points and stay someplace more central next time.
