we satayed in the hotel in October 2012. It appeared to be in the cetntre of the city. Very close to both the railway station and the Karlplatz. But you won't hear a noise from trains. Thanks a lot to the staff. They were really friendly. The room was quiet and cosy. It was cleaned perfectly well, The breakfast is substantial, especially the variety of fruit)

Fantastic location within easy walking distance of all of Munich and a great rail link from Karlplatz (S8) to the airport. The room was very comfortable with a wee balcony area. They had a cracking coffee machine in the room which I used as much as I could. They staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much. The bed was very comfy too. The breakfast was more than adequate with a massive selection of breads, meats, fruit and more. Can't thank them enough for our lovely stay.

Room Tip: I think they would all be good

I stayed here during Oktoberfest. Myself and friends were looking for a good value hotel in the centre of the city.

Location wise, this was perfect. Walking distance from the train station, city centre and also the beer festival. A little note: the area is full of lap dancing bars etc, so may not be suitable for families.

Check in was very friendly. In fact the staff were great during the stay - talkative and welcoming. Thank you!

The room was basic and clean. However, the room (54) got unbearably hot. We opened the window but this room faced onto a main road, which was very noisy. I'm certainly not a light sleeper but found it very difficult to get a good nights sleep.

The continental breakfast is excellent - a great little selection.

As a final point, there was no free wifi (5 euro charge). I feel strongly that wifi should always be free.

To conclude, this would be an excellent hotel if they could sort out the temperature. I do feel harsh knocking it down but a good nights sleep is a Pre-requisite for any accommodation.

Room Tip: Get one to the back of the hotel

This was our second stay in Munich and we had this hotel reserved.Very friendly reception. Our room faced the inner courtyard and was very quiet.Room was clean and adequate for our visit.
City center and train station is in walking distance.Since we had to leave very early in the morning the breakfast room was just setting up but we were allowed to have some breakfast and coffee.

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel and despite it being on a slightly seedy street and with an ugly facade, it was actually very adequate for our stay. Close to the train station and a 10 minute walk into the city center, there is also a tram station at the end of the road for access further afield. The rooms were clean and comfortable, not massive but ok for 2 suitcases opened. The breakfast offered a huge variety but not of things that most Brits would eat in the morning, coleslaw, potato salad and salmon to name a few but there were also plenty of cereals, eggs and breads also to fill up on. Staff were helpful, there's internet access for 5€ per day.

Pros:

- Location, near to Central Station ( 10 min. walk ) and city center ( 15-20 min. walk ),
- Room ( clean, very good soundproof, quiet in the back of the hotel, nice bathroom although small, lcd tv),
- Staff ( in the breakfast room, in the room, not at the reception desk ),
- Excellent Breakfast, especial the cold part, the hot part was medium,
- Fast check-in & check-out,
- Free computer in the lobby, at the reception desk, but just one,
- coffee kettle in the room.

Cons:

- no safe-box in the room,
- no free wifi in the room,
- Common area need an upgrade,
- Staff at the reception desk, very rigid, but efficient,
- price is high, but Munich is an expensive city.

All in all, I recomand this true 3* hotel.

This small hotel in the heart of Munich has to be experienced for its breakfast, so ably supervised by Irene. The spread is fresh, varied and sumptuous. Nothing seems to run out; being continually replenished. The variety of fruits, breads, cakes, cheeses and cold cuts is amazing. Coffee and tea is served at the table while the rest has to be collected on a buffet pattern. On asking we were gladly given just the type of eggs that we wanted, together with salad. Go to Wallis, if not for anything else, for the breakfast!
The second high point of this hotel is its location - central to all the modes of communication (main railway staion is just about 13 minutes walk with your wheeled luggage) and shopping. Indeed, we bought a three day family travel card valid for five persons for any number of trips in any mode of transport for Euro 23:30 and went all around the city till late at night.
The accommodation, however, is cramped, perhaps understandabley so in a city like Munich. Our triple room had barely any place left to keep our suitcases! In addition, there being no airconditioning, and Munich being hot when we were there for four nights, our night's sleep was quite uncomfortable. The open window and the tiny table fan mde no difference.
The ladies at the reception, especially Ms Hirth were very friendly and always had time to suggest places to visit, tram stops to get off at and best sausages to find.
Recommended with the breakfast and the location in mind.
