“Central, fantastic staff, spotless rooms & great service”
Reviewed January 2, 2010

Stayed here for 2 nights with my mum in mid-december. Booked a deluxe room on hotel website-no diiference in price compared to other sites. Emailed hotel 2-3 times before we travelled & responses were always quick & polite.

Got S Bahn from airport, there is a stop directly outside hotel. That will save you a 60euro taxi fare. Get S bahn tickets at airport for 2-3 days.

Welcome from front desk at Torbrau was warm & genuine. Reception desk staff were polite, knowledgeable & unfailingly helpful during the stay.

Room was great; there is nothing worse than the disappointment of a room that fails to live up to your expectations when you first arrive. No such problem here. Large & spotless with a jacuzzi bath & rain shower.

No actual restaurant for dinner in hotel. Breakfast room turns into cafe at 11am. Breakfast lovely with fresh fruit, cereals, pasteries, cooked meats & even champagne! View of city from breakfast room really pretty. Pasteries & cakes from 11am are delicious- blackforest gateau, stollen, apple studel etc

Italian restaurant right next door served us well for dinner on both nights. Great value, fresh, authentic italian fare & good athmosphere. No foray into bavarian restaurants while we were there I'm afraid but there is a traditional restaurant nearby apparently.

The hotel really was perfect, right bang in the centre. I mulled for ages over this and the Radisson but on seeing how close we were to everything I am so happy I went with the Torbrau. The area felt safe which is so important. The staff were excellent & so efficient. You sensed they had real pride in the hotel. The whole hotel was absolutely spotless & no problems with noise at night. Beds were very comfy. Flat screen tv with 60+ channels, 3-4 english channels.

We would go back in a flash & we'll definitely stay again if I'm back in Munich.

Great front desk service, great room service, great bar staff, nice breakfast buffet. Spotlessly clean and adequately sized rooms, and such a brlliant location. We have no complaints whatsoever, and I would gladly stay at Torbräu agaIn. Sadly no free internet access - this being my only (yet, rather important...) point of criticism.

We had a long weekend at Hotel Torbrau to visit the Munich Christmas markets. It was really conveniently located, just 3 mins walk from the major tourist sites such as Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt & Hofbrau House.
The staff were very friendly, helpful & down to earth.
The breakfast was a wide spread including fruit, cold meats, cheese, smoked salmon, cerael, pastries, breads, jams. In the afternoon the cafe does a great selection of cakes & drinks.
The hotel & rooms were spacious, modern & clean. It certainly felt like a 4* hotel & bathrooms were quite luxurious.
We'd recommend it to anyone - couples, families, etc. We took our toddler and it was easy to get a cot.
We wanted to check-in online on our last day and got free use of their computer, printer & internet in the business suite.
Each day the room was replenished with water & sweets. Lovely little touches that add to the great experience.
Really recommend Munich's xmas markets & the city - very clean, easy to walk around, feels safe, only downside was it was fairly pricy.

we stayed at this hotel on our first trip to Munich. The location was really great, just at the city center, close to the main touristic attractions in the city. also close to Maredo, which was basically what we could eat during the time we were there (not a fan of Bavarian food) Based on the fact that there was nothing to do in the city at night except going to a beer house, the hotel's bar was a good choice to spend time. Breakfast was excellent. I haven't tried the restaurant but just near the hotel there is also an Italian restaurant/bar called Hugo's. It was totally empty even though they argued with us that we did not have a reservation. The food was really bad too.
Public transport is really easy to the hotel, just check the web site and do what they say.

Less than a hundred rooms, this hotel is directly within close walking distance of the major tourist sites such as Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt. Most of the other major hotels are located near the train station which is a fair hike to the sites we favored. Staff all spoke perfect English and couldn't have been cheerier or more helpful. Secure parking available directly at the hotel.

Hotel is old with a charming staircase. Rooms have been completely renovated and are furnished in a contemporary decor with excellent plumbing.

Hotel restaurant located in a lovely room above street level and has a really good breakfast buffet and also made to order eggs. The best breakfast buffet we had in Europe. Nice pretzels. Really nice afternoon tea with sweets and ice creams. Newly opened bar with a very friendly bartender.

Wireless internet failed, but CAT 5 cable available at the front desk; no extra charge for internet. Wired internet worked perfectly at no extra charge.

Internet booking rates on their hotel website and those available by booking by phone are identical. The rate may be different depending on the day of the week. We absolutely will stay at this reasonably priced hotel again.

This hotel is in an excellent location--walking distance to many attractions. The service is excellent--very friendly and helpful, and they all spoke excellent English. The room and bathroom were very well decorated and clean. We really enjoyed the big breakfast buffet that comes with the room. We'd definitely stay there again.
