We stayed one night in Westin Grand Muenchen. The hotel located a bit outside the city, but it was a very nice and modern hotel. The room was spacious, it has a great view to the city. The bathroom has a mixed bathtub and shower.

What I like the most was the breakfast. It has so many variety of food, and the open kitchen concept was the highlight of the breakfast.

We booked the Exec lounge floors. Great view. Food in the lounge was great for breakfast and dinner. Easy access to Arabella Square U/subway for easy access to all of Munich. If up for walking, English Garden is not too far either. Beautiful hotel, great beds as usual. People nice and helpful. While we drove to Munich, we left car at hotel and used the U the whole time.

The Westin Grand is trying to be a 5-star hotel, but seems to fall short in some areas. I only spent one night there (and didn't eat there), so I don't have too much experience. Although the room had modern fixtures, there were crumbs on the floor in the hallway, and the toilet wasn't very clean (just dingy, like at an airport). Not that I suffered at all, but if you want to charge 5-star prices, you need to put out a little more effort, in my opinion. The beds were extremely soft (you sit down and it goes half-way to the floor), which I don't care for, but they were clean and big.

What a great Hotel this is. We always spend one weekend around Christmas in Munich. After testing different hotels this has become our favorite. We had a suite quite high up, from where we could even see in to the city center.
The room was clean and provided plenty of space. We liked the pool area although the water was real cold and it was rather on the small side.
An other downside was that the hotel is not that easy to reach by public transportation. Especially during winter months the walk from the subway to the hotel is uncomfortable.
However, what really was the highlight of our stay here was the big and very good breakfast buffet. For us this hotel has set the new “breakfast-standard” J. And its one of the main reasons why we will be choosing this hotel again when returning to Munich.

This was my second stay at this hotel. On the whole it's fine but not quite up to the same standard as the Westin grand in Berlin and in Frankfurt . Rooms are ok a nd so is the restaurant and lobby bar. I had a bit of a bad experience with the concierge when he failed to inform me that dinner booking I asked him to do could not be done. Had I not checked in time I would not have been informed . Apart from this all went well. The hotel has a wonderful indoor pool and an executivelou ge on the 22nd floor giving you a birds eye view over a good part of the city. Although not quite in the city centre the hotel is just a few meters away from an underground station from where you can catch line u4 which takes you to city centre in a few minutes. The hotel also comes complete with. a car park where there are parking places marked for women. (wonder why!,!, rather sexist) also have a go at paulanets restaurant . This a typical Bavarian beer garden serving food of the region by young ladies dressed in costumes for those who wish to keep an eye on their waistline large yummy salads are also served.

Room Tip: Try to ask for one overlooking the garden

At my first stay after completion of the renovation of the Club Lounge I've been really impressed.

The new Club Lounge is huge, offers a fantastiv view over Munich towards the Apls and a very good selection of food/drink. With Club Lounge access there's no need for dinner elsewhere.

The rooms (as usual I got a nice suite) are very, very nice - so are the bathrooms.

I love the location of the Hotel since it's in between the exhibition center and the city. If you know your way you'll reach the exhibition/hotel without any trafic jam.

Tip: don't park your car in the (expensive) parking lot of the hotel. There're many free parking places nearby the hotel.

Room Tip: Take a room with Club access

I have stayed here a couple of times before and never had problems but on my last trip the air conditioning in the room was practically non-existent. Consequently it ended up sauna like for two nights. It seemed to be a general issue at the time - I over heard a pilot at check out giving out blue murder about it.

Otherwise it is an excellent hotel, with good restaurants & bar and facilities.

Room Tip: Register for the Starwood guest program to get rooms on the higher floors. Make sure the AC is worki...

Dear Concerned Citizen,

We are very sorry that our AC unfortunately broke during your stay, but let me assure you that it was fixed right after. We appreciate your compliments regarding our restaurants and the bar and are glad that you enjoyed an inspiring stay nonetheless.
