This was a good place to stay. The staff was helpful. There was a little elevator, if you needed it. Also, the breakfast was outstanding. Watch out for the espresso machine, though, as it might burn you if you do it wrong. The beds were comfortable and the place was generally clean. It is near the train station though, which has it's upsides and downsides. Upsides, easy to get everywhere quickly - downside, if you open the windows for air (no AC), you are going to get some loud folks about all night. Generally, quite a nice place though.

Pros:
- Great location. It's close the major train station meaning fast access everywhere, including the airport, and it's also only a ten minute walk from the city centre.
- The staff were very friendly and spoke perfect English
- Decent breakfast buffet.
- Good room service.
- Very good price, definitely got our money's worth

Cons:
- NO Air Conditioning!!! The hotel can of course do nothing about the weather, but it's normal in this area of Germany to have very humid, hot days and nights during the summer. This weather mixed with no AC is frustrating combination - you either open the window to get a tiny reduction in heat/humidity but pay the price in terms of very loud traffic outside, or you close the window and try to sleep in sauna-like conditions.

Summary: For the price, if this place had AC I would give it a 5/5 rating, but without AC 3/5.

Room Tip: You'll need to open the window, so try to get a room away from the road and buy some earplugs.

The hotel room was clean and a decent size. There was no AC so we had to open the window for a breeze. There was so much noise coming from the street at all hours. It was very difficult to sleep at night. The bathroom was small. The breakfast was good. There was also free wifi in the lobby. I was not too happy about the location. It had it benefits and disadvantages. It's right across the street from the train station and near an awesome beer garden Augustiner-Keller. The disadvantage was it was near a shady area that had strip clubs and not so friendly people. I would probably stay in a different area next time I go to Munich.

It might not be the most glamourous room, but the basic bed and l-a-r-g-e bathroom and shower more than made up for the simplicity of the room. We were in a rear room (115), so we had a little noise from the street behind the hotel, but you could not beat the location to the train station and the S and U bahns. I mean, come on, you can't be close to transportation without hearing it every once in a while, right? I would absolutely advise staying on the Amba side of the train station, as the opposite side was full of sex shops, tacky touristy stores, and noise. Trust me, if you want to relax a bit and see "real" Germany, stay on the Amba side and enjoy the beautiful breakfast and free internet in the lobby.

Room Tip: first floor rooms are near the breakfast room, but you don't hear the noise because there is a s...

Not much to say, this is a slightly better than basic hotel. Everything is clean and comfortable but slightly dated. Had a good night sleep and warm shower so no complaints, but nothing about the hotel is outstanding. Breakfast was good, but again nothing to rave about. Central location is a plus, easy walk from the railway station, even with bags and a gentle 10 minute stroll to Marienplatz. I would return but mostly due to the location.
