“Little room and far from a centre”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

The hotel is OK, not excellent.
We were there at August, there were very hot days, we stayed with family - two of us, and 3 kids, one of them 3 years old.
Positive: there is MacDonalds retaurant in the same building, everyday there is free coffee and tea in the lobby, with some peanuts and cookies. 24 minuts car trip will bring you to the beautiful Starnberger See. The lake is beautiful and you can swim there.
The parking is for money, but it's underground parking, and only hotel stayers can drive in. There is also lot of free parking, 5 minuts away.
There are two or three supermarkets nearby, en route to the S-Bahn station.
Negative: the room was definitely little for us - 4 beds and a child bed. The windows was stucked, and they fixed it only next morning. We slept with closed windows... Not so nice.
When we stayed there, there were some works at central S-Bahn line, and regular trip to the centre took 80 minutes.
No parks nearby, no place to go out to walk.

I stayed two nights at this hotel, which is located several km away from the center, I guess about 6 or 7 km. Attending the Bauma Fair in Munich, which is held only once every three years, I expected the hotel prices to be high, specially since I booked only about 2 months in advance. By that time this hotel asked € 320.-- per night/room; the normal price is around € 55.-- to 75.-- during non-Bauma times. Sure, it's a rip-off, but compared to hotels closer to the center even this price was a bargain. I'd have payed easily over € 600.-- per night for a one star hotel in town, the Bauma makes such prices possible, obviously.
Anyway, now about the hotel: it's located on a major road axis to the center. Fortunately you don't hear any sound of the road, but on the other hand I had a room with view to the back, and there's a commercial railtrack. But I only heard occasionally a train passing, and it wasn't bothering me at all, wasn't loud.
The look of the hotel: well, the pics you see on their own site are rather flattering. I guess that the last renovation dates a few years ago, but I don't say it's in need of being renovated, -restyled maybe The lobby is large and quite basic. They tried to embellish the decor by sponging the door frames, and achieved exactly the opposite doing so: to me that looked cheap and at first glance I thought they were in the course of renovating. The probably same paint "artist" left his marks in the basement, and on any door frames in the hotel. I got a room in the second floor. The gangways are very long, reminiscent of a school or a clinic.
The room: large, really large! It reminded me those large motel rooms in the USA. Everything was clean and spotless, nothing to complain here. There would have been space enough for luggage from a whole family. I found a tea/coffee pot, but sadly neither any tea nor coffee. I guess that my measly € 320,-- per night didn't allow that. Same goes for the sparkling water which I found on the console: it wasn't free, but was later charged on my bill. The wifi's not included neither, btw..
Attached to the hotel is a McDonalds restaurant, just next door (10 meters away). That comes certainly handy when you travel with kids, or if you have a little craving before going sleep. A McCafé is also integrated, and as a coffee addict I made ample use of that.
The hotel has an own underground parking. As far as I can tell, ot was either free, or at least it didn't increase my hotel bill much.
The bed was very comfy and fresh. I slept very good. The tv set is an lcd of a normal size. The bath was rather large, and very clean too. The breakfast was OK, I found at least everything what I usually eat for breakfast, but don't expect extras.
This is certainly a good hotel if you want to visit Munich on a budget with kids. For me it was a rather positive experience, At normal rates, this hotel is certainly a total bargain.

Room Tip: I had room 222 in the second floor, view to the back of the hotel (= south view). Probably a better...

We stayed here by accident. We have extended business trip. Rooms are large and comfortable, the bed huge and comfortable, bathroom adequate. It was very clean. Double room was € 75, breakfast € 7.50, which I consider adequate. Breakfast was simple, but the selection was sufficient. Lobby is rather simpler. Overall, I was very satisfied.

We chose the hotel on price only. So it was great when the room turned out large (for 4 persons) and nice. The location is good: on the one hand it is close to the highway, and on the other there are supermarkets nearby, an S-Bahn station and even a real bakery.

Nice surprise, considering the fair price. This hotel is located in the southeastern suburbs of Munich, close to the railway station of Pasing, where quite a few trains actually stop, and where you connect into Munich's fantastic metropolitan transport system. The Pasinger railway station is also next to a modern shopping centre, called the Arkaden. The hotel is relatively new, and stuck between two conveniences: a petrol station, and a MacDonald's. As it has a garage, it is ideal if you have a rental car, which was my case. Each floor has two wings, one with standards and the other, with family suites. The fire door prevents the possible noise from rowdy children reaching the standard rooms, so even if you are not in a family, but on business, it is an interesting option (with a rental car). The family suites (my case) have two queen-size beds, so they easily fit 2 pairs of adults, and the bathroom was spacious enough, with a bath/shower and nice hot water. The setback, is that there room is not equipped with wi-fi, but the hotel offers free access in the lobby area, where there is coffee and tea through all of the afternoon and night for free. The staff are exceptionally pro and friendly, and always helped me whenever I needed an information or had a doubt. The breakfast was great value for money, with varied types of bread and of course, the Bavarian pretzels, and a good variety of jams, honey, and cereals.

I would definitely consider it a very good option, if with a rental car, and searching for a peaceful setting outside of the bustle of the city centre. If in a small family (of up to 4), the money for value climbs to 5 stars, considering Munich's hotel costs, and the quality of this nice hotel.

Pls observe - there is a small parking fee (5-6 Euros/day), though given the fair price of the hotel, is not a negative point!

Room Tip: One of the end of the two wings on each floor faces the railway tracks. Though the rooms have double...

Our travel agent thought getting a bit out of Munich would be a good way to save a little money for our four-night stay, and this pretty much fit the bill. It's in a suburb but you DO have very regular transportation into town (an S-Bahn about 300 meters away, every 20 or 30 minutes). Just plan, and use "group" tickets if you're more than two people. Easy.

True, there's a McDonald's attached to it, but there's much better very nearby. Each morning, we walked about 250 meters to a local grocery store and our family of four got our fill of fresh bakery, fruit and drinks for about 12 Euro (or much less, depending on the day). Heard from other reviews here that the 10 Euro per person breakfast at the hotel was iffy so we saved a bunch of money this way. We also visited the Subway sandwich shop across the street once -- grudgingly so on this dad's part, but it worked nicely for the whole family in the end!

Our rate was something like $85 per night. For a family of four, staying in one room (OK, my teens didn't need the Mickey Mouse rug or Tweety Bird wall decals, but some families might really appreciate it), it was a nice effort. Room decor was a bit drab, but there's also a computer in the lobby you can stand up and use, as well as a big TV to watch, large seating area and complimentary tea/coffee after the breakfast hours.

We didn't need the latter because it was so hot when we stayed. This caused a bit of a problem for us (and anyone else more used to air-conditioning or at least breezes, of course) because the room was a bit stuffy, even with the window open. But even with a room at the back of the building (near the train lines), we got over it. These trains are surprisingly quiet and smooth (for commuter trains) coming in and out of the nearby station. We saved the bigger investments for other towns; this was supposed to be a decent budget-oriented stay and it served its purpose. The service was really pretty good overall.

Room Tip: If you're a really light sleeper, ask for something away from the rail line (though with the win...

Not so easy to reach if you come from the business centre: 1,5h! Its area is not central but very quiet and calm. Reception is spacy and staff is helpful, moreover the coffe-corner is free of charge for guests who can self made coffe&tea. Double rooms are big enough to feel confortable, forniture looks old (tv in my room was approx of '70s) but is very clean and everything works properly. Buffet at breakfast is various, continental style. Coffee machine in breakfast room is terrible, coffee is much better at the reception machine. Private park in the basement, not free of charge.
