To address some other reviewers’ comments, the Drei Lowen hotel is very close to the main rail station and, as in most major cities, that entails having a few “colorful” elements and people, but I thought the hotel itself offered a very high standard of comfort at the price point and for a close-in location. There is some ongoing street work near the hotel but I think that was a small issue for a pedestrian.
My room on the 4th floor was very clean and appeared to be recently remodeled with a uniform decorating scheme and a good sized bathroom. Having asked for a quiet room, I was placed in a back section and had a great night’s sleep. The bed was comfortably firm and had a real selection of pillows in terms of composition and firmness. A sign near the elevator on the first floor touted a new system used by the hotel to ensure the cleanliness of bedding using a breathable barrier cover.
The breakfast was of a good quality with freshly made egg dishes. While at breakfast, I overheard the staff specifically and courteously addressing guests up questions about allergens in food and Hallal standards of the egg dishes.
The front desk staff was polite and competent. In the evening, I saw families playing board games in the lobby. To my mind, this hotel is a good choice near the train station and downtown Munich and I intend to use it again unless something else bowls me over.
