Room 503 - I had a comfy single bed. There was no Air Conditioning but there was a fan & you could open a window. TV up on wall, small bar fridge (coke etc was hot so fridge not working) large bathroom with a shower over the bath, it was clean & I’d say a recent bathroom renovation had been done. Awesome breakfast with lots of variety. Walk to nearby train station. Surprisingly the street noise was blocked out when the window was shut. Walking distance to everything

To address some other reviewers’ comments, the Drei Lowen hotel is very close to the main rail station and, as in most major cities, that entails having a few “colorful” elements and people, but I thought the hotel itself offered a very high standard of comfort at the price point and for a close-in location. There is some ongoing street work near the hotel but I think that was a small issue for a pedestrian.

My room on the 4th floor was very clean and appeared to be recently remodeled with a uniform decorating scheme and a good sized bathroom. Having asked for a quiet room, I was placed in a back section and had a great night’s sleep. The bed was comfortably firm and had a real selection of pillows in terms of composition and firmness. A sign near the elevator on the first floor touted a new system used by the hotel to ensure the cleanliness of bedding using a breathable barrier cover.

The breakfast was of a good quality with freshly made egg dishes. While at breakfast, I overheard the staff specifically and courteously addressing guests up questions about allergens in food and Hallal standards of the egg dishes.

The front desk staff was polite and competent. In the evening, I saw families playing board games in the lobby. To my mind, this hotel is a good choice near the train station and downtown Munich and I intend to use it again unless something else bowls me over.

We stayed here because it was recommended to us by our travel agent. I wish we'd done more research before we committed! The location is close to the main train station and centre, but there were major road works going on right in front of the hotel which we were not informed about or offered any discount for the inconvenience. We were told there was parking but did not realise it was in a public parking lot that was two blocks away. There was no where to stop on the street to drop our bags off so we had to park the two blocks away and drag all of our luggage back to the hotel. Not an ideal thing to do when there are road works and you have to walk all the way to the top of the street only to turn around and come back. Once we got to the hotel, the check in was relatively easy but our room was small and nothing like the photos on their website. It had a strange smell and the windows looked out the back of some old buildings and peoples washing. Not what we were expecting at all. The lift was extremely slow so we ended up using the stairs most days. The street it is located on seems very dodgy with ladies/strip clubs along it which is not ideal. We won't be staying here again and I would not recommend it. The only saving grace is the lovely staff. We could tell that it was sometimes awkward when we questioned them on some of our concerns. They remained gracious at all times.

The Sofitel is around the corner, and had I known that I would have stayed there because it would have cost the same!

The hotel is 100 yards from HBF station, couldn’t ask for a better place to base yourself.
That said the area is a bit rough, strip clubs, beggars and police making arrests nearby.

Once you step through the doors of the hotel, this could be forgotten. Staff were very helpful ( Julian especially ). Rooms very clean and modern ( we stayed on floor 2 & 3 ) and Air Con worked well!

I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to base yourself in the centre and want to use the station.

I paid 230 euro per night! for a "suit" that was decorated as a bordel..
that reservation was made via booking on the false pretense that they have airport shuttle which turn out to be a lie, they could offer me to book for me a taxi which anyone could do..they hotel is unjustifiably labeled as 4 star hotel, there is nothing besides the plain room. I wake up to discover that there were no towels in the bathroom.

the other thing is the bad location, doner stands and sex shops. In short ,keep away from this hotel.
