Unpleasant impertinent rude .... unglaublich unhoeflich
So far not ONE I repeat not ONE employed person working at this hotel
has actually said “hello or bye” NOT ONE!!!!!
(room service was very friendly but they are kind of separate)
THE PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN , on the door means for the reception of the mercure “call the guests room and let it ring and let it ring and ring until they actually wake you up and you pick up the phone” This is absolutely crazy. She says “aaa you have a don’t disturb sign on your door (exactly why are you calling me???) (Saturday 1 pm) are you sure you don’t want your room cleaned???? ) why are you calling me and waking me up?????? What the hell is wrong with these people here??
Die they say sorry? Of course NOT
The Reception was disappointing, couldn’t bother and connected me to the reservations, all simply unpleasant on the phone even before arrival, the Reception at arrival was a joke and rude, not interested in offering service of any kind “I arrive with all my bags and the receptionist actually asks me if i have a booking!? No man, I just packed my bags and decided to drop into your hotel, to see if you like my suitcases at 3:30 in the morning!!!!” my car was in front of the hotel and the man assumed i am here every day and know my way around and could not be bothered to explain me the way to the garage of the hotel, the garage is a official city garage 18 euros per day. My room did not exist and he really could not be bothered. I reserved privilege room but I got superior which should not be since the cost of privilege is higher than superior. Supposed to stay here for 14 days in a Privilege Double, the booked room was not available at arrival but was offered to me the next day. Had no interest and time to move as I have unpacked and settled in the morning in a superior room.
The Reception staff is poor in every way. They can’t greet ...seems like a hotel rule. Don’t be nice to the guests.. don’t look at them or speak with them...they can’t even order a taxi
The room was clean and simple
The elevators are not enough and very smelly
The garage is a official garage with a entrance to the hotel only on one level... that one has to look for. and sometimes the hotel is not happy to give coins out! 16 euros per day!! hmmm
I do love the room service offered through a restaurant in the hotel .. they are all nice and apologized when late

Room Tip: there is one room that has a separate bedroom.. i would recommend that one only one like that :)

We checked in at almost 10 pm and got perhaps what was one of the last superior rooms available at the time.
At first it seemed pretty neat with a stair case and 2 Tvs etc.. however it felt congested , i checked the fire escape map to see the size of the room only to realize we were given a corner room i.e. 714 which caused a downward slant which lead to congestion and dullness in the room.

Went down to request for a change in room however was told it could only be possible tomorrow morning,

Disappointed we barely got sleep that night , at around 8 am next morning called up the front desk telling them my situation and was fortunate enough to get Patricia , who told me she would check on availability and get back to me,

Within 5 mins she called up and said she had another Superior room on the 5th floor and if it was possible to meet her there

I went there and this room was much better , there was enough natural light and eons of space, my mother absolutely loved this room , Patricia said to meet her at the front desk while i gathered my bags she kept all the paper work and keys ready

I asked her if this very room was available last night to which she said Yes, i was disappointed despite being a Gold AClub member i was still not moved to an available room by the staff the previous night

This room i.e. 520 was ofcourse a much nicer experience and we wished we had stayed there a few more nights and my mother and me could'nt thank Patricia enough which is why i rate this property 4 stars instead of 3

Some reviews mention noise of the hostilities causing trouble however in both my rooms if the windows were shut you could not hear a whisper from outside, and this did not bother us at all infact movement of youth added to the liveliness of the place

The free minibar concept was a nice touch and the HD channels on the TV was one of widest language range i have seen at any hotel

Room Tip: If choosing a Superior room with a duple ts Do not take room no. 714 , the superior rooms on the 5th and 6th floor although not duple ts are much more airy and spacious like 520 etc

This was a great hotel, with nice rooms, and we had a HUGE walk-in shower! The room was spacious, with a fridge and safe. The breakfast was nice, and it was close to the train station. It is a little disconcerting when you first walk up, as it is on a road right beside the train station that has some cheap hostels, and it would definitely be a little dodgy later in the evening. Since we had a young sone, we were always in the hotel by 8pm, and felt absolutely safe at this time. It was a 15 minute walk to the old town, and right by trams, trains etc. I would asolutely stay at this hotel again, just be aware of yourself if you plan on being out later at night.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the courtyard. I don't know how noisy the road would be, but it was not the most attractive area, whereas the courtyard held plants and a small patio for a beer garden.

We stayed in April for 2 nights. The hotel is very well located right in the center of the city 3 min walk from Hauptbanhof (Central railway station) at the same time on very quiet street - so no noise at all. Underground and S-Bahn stations are within 2-3 min walk as well. In addition you can easily explore city center by foot - Karlsplatz - 5 min walking distance, Marienplatz - 10 min walking distance. Room - we did book Privillege room and enjoyed its extra features: free minibar (incl. snacks, soft drinks, juice, beer and sparkling wine), coffe/tea facilities, bathrobe and slippers, free Wi-Fi, late check-out and double A-club points. Rooms is very well sized, with omodern furtniture, bathroom is OK. Bed quality is normal, but nothing special. In addition to Wi-fi in the room they also have free Internet on the desktops near the lobby - very convenient especially if you don't have your laptop with you. Breakfast was very good with wide variety of hot and cold dishes, not crowdy. We did have a dinner one evening - also liked it. Hotel staff was very friendly and professional. The only minus is the absence of swimming pool. All in all very good centrally located Munich hotel which can be highly recommended for short breaks in Munich.
