Holiday Inn Munich - City Centre

Wonderful hotel - smack dab in the middle of downtown Munich. Easy access to the S-Bahn, staff very fluent in multiple languages. There is even an english newspaper available in the restuarant. Only drawback was the bar in the lounge - we brought a bag of cherries we purchased at the farmers market that morning to have with our drinks that night as we socialized with friends. They don't allow you to bring in any foods so that they can charge you outrageously for their food. They lose - we left to go the the Kennedy - quite a bar tab too...

Dear Arthur A,
Thank you for your valuable feedback. I am pleased to know that you liked the choice of newspapers available. My apologies for not accepting the outside food in the lounge because the area belongs to our restaurant too and like in any other restaurant, outside food is not permitted. I appreciate your understanding.
Thank you once again for choosing us. I look forwrad to welcoming you once again to the city of Munich and to our hotel.
Best regards

I had a wonderful stay here for a few days. We were fortunately enough to be allowed a very early check-in. The rooms were large, modern, and clean. The staff were very nice and even helped us find a laundrymat. I didn't try the pool because it was closed for filming The only down side...Only free internet is on the provided by the 2 computers in the lobby.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn – City Centre as part of a group. I generally do not have high expectations for tour hotels but this hotel exceeded my expectations.

The location isn’t directly downtown but is an easy walk or public transit ride from all the sights of the city center of Munich. The hotel rooms are large and modern. The bathrooms were “American size” and had plenty of towels. The breakfast was included as part of our tour and the breakfast was outstanding. Not just the typical bread, meat and cheese – there was a huge variety of food.

My biggest disappointment was with the high cost of WiFi service in the rooms. I rated the "Value" as average because of the high cost of the WiFi service.

I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Holiday Inn – City Centre if I’m back in Munich.

This is a nicely appointed, modern hotel located about a 15 minute stroll south of the old city center. In the vicintiy are a number of small, reasonably priced restaurants, including a very good Afghan one. The hotel is connected to the S Bahn which gets you to both the train station and airport seamlessly. Rooms are decently sized, very clean and quiet. Breakfast on the weekend was offered for 15 euros; the selction was excellent, but the room is too small for the number of guests, necessitating the use of an adjacent space that is less frenetic, but does not offer as broad a selection of cooked items. Would certainly stay here again if I was in the area.

Room Tip: Higher floors facing north have a great bview of central Munich

The Holiday inn city center hotel in Munich is a good hotel, in a very convenient location in Munich.

Location: The hotel is about 15 minutes easy walk from the main square, the Marienplatz
.Public transportation to the hotel is excellent, from all parts of Munich , with the underground and S Bahn.

Rooms: Nice rooms. Rooms are not very large, but very convenient. We stayed on the 7 th floor and had a nice view of the city. The hotel is not very generous with the room amenities,so bring your soap and shampoo along with you.

Breakfast: Very rich breakfast buffet. Buffet is constantly being refreshed. excellent self service coffee machines- so you dont have to wait to be served.

Unfortunately there is no body to seat you, so if breakfast room is full you might face difficulties in finding a clean place. It is advised that large groups, who occupy the breakfast room during peak hours, shall have their breakfast in another hall.

Reception: just OK. in 2 cases reception agents gave us wrong information, but as said, service was friendly and just OK.

Internet in the lobby: there are 2 free internet working places in the lobby.I could not use them because the place was overcrowded. most of the users did not know how to operate the strange keyboards, mainly how to type the @ sign. the explanation located nearby was confusing.
All in all: the HI city centre is a good hotel. I will definately wish to stay there again,

Room Tip: Try to have a high floor room with city view.

A nice clean hotel with very pleasant staff, large range of breakfasts to choose from, rooms very clean and quiet at night. Just a short walk brings you into the centre with lots of restaurants in the area. It has a huge turnover so it is always busy but the staff always have time for you. The only regret is not having time to use the pool as it looked so good.

The Holiday Inn is about what you would expect it to be.
Rooms are clean but nothing special.
Price was fair
Internet was overpriced (but free for me because of status)

It is right by the Rosenheimer Platz Sbahn which makes it easy. There is a grocery store at the ground level which is great.
Also it is a very easy walk to the center of town.
