“Convenient for public transport system, great breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2010

We spent two nights at this hotel at the end of a Trafalgar tour. The room was large, clean, and had the usual Hilton amenities. The breakfast selection was great and the location was ideal for using the metro. The only suggestion I would make is that the carpet in our room had several stains and needed to be replaced. This was also true for the upholstery on one chair.

I would stay at this hotel again if I found a good deal on the price. We have used other 4 star hotels in Munich that had nicer rooms, an excellent breakfast, free internet, and were considerably less in price

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in October 2010. The hotel is really nice and staff is friendly. We took executive room. So, we used lounge on 5-th floor. There were free drinks as well (wine, cognac, whiskey) as well. The rooms are comfotable clean and quite. Also we were very pleased with the hotel's location. It's located not in the downtown exactly, but very close. So, it's not so crowded and noisy on one hand. And at the same time it took us just 3-4 minutes by subway to the City Center MarienPlatz station (just 2 stations). Or it took us 15 minutes by foot to get there. You can enter to the subway directly from the hotel lobby.

This hotel is easy to get to by public transport, it has an entrance from Rosenheimer Platz U-Bahn station. You can walk to the city over the river Isar through the Isartor in around 15 - 20 minutes.

The room was nice and spacious and the breakfast buffet was excellent with a great choice.

Although I enjoyed my stay in this hotel, I feel it is more suited to business travellers and does not offer an individual experience to a leisure traveller.

In this hotel we were pleased to find a beautifully appointed room with an exceiptionally comfortable mattresse.. Everything was maintained in spotless condition.

The staff members were very professional and were conversant in English. They were most helpful in response to our questions and were eager to please.

Having access via the hotel elevator to the subway was a huge plus, especially in inclement weather. The center of the old city is only about a 15 minute easy walk from the hotel. We felt safe walking back and forth to this area, even at 10:00 in the evening.

Several charming restaurants are nearby, and two grocery stores and fast food shops are in the two-story indoor motorama mall which is directly across the street via the subway or above ground.. The English Garden trails begin about a block down the street near the river.

One of the best things about this hotel is that it is located right on top of the subway station and taking the S8 train from the airport to the hotel was not only a faster option but also economical and comfortable.

Overall, I'd stay at this hotel again. Yoshi at reception was very nice and friendly, which was a huge plus since I was dealing with jet lag and practically no sleep. She called me when my room was available (since I checked in early) which was much appreciated.

The food for breakfast was the same every morning, which got tiring but it did taste good - buffet selection of eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, pastries and breads, made to order omelettes which take a while to wait for.

The room was nice and clean. The only downside is that it was very, very warm. I asked the engineer about it and sure enough I had it on the coldest setting...where it was still pretty warm. Other colleagues had the same issue and the only solution was to open the window. Also it seems odd but the hotel only gives 1 bar of soap per room, so you had to take it from the sink to the shower and back to the sink. Housekeeping came really quickly though when I called for another bar.

The location was pretty convenient. It's right above the S-bahn train station, and about a 10 minute walk from Marienplatz where all the shops are. Also, there's a grocery store called HIT across the street and downstairs.

We spent 11 days at the Munich Hilton City Center. The hotel is very well located and easy to get to and from via the S-Bahn. The stop for the train is right under the hotel and can be reached via elevator from the hotel lobby.

Our room was nice. It was nicely sized and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and the bath amenities provided were top notch. I enjoyed the in-room coffee and tea service as well. We pre-ordered some items for our room prior to arrival and they were delivered promptly once we checked in.

We ate dinner in the hotel’s restaurant twice. The food was good and we enjoyed it both times. We also had breakfast at the hotel each morning. And while others may comment on the price being a little high, the breakfast was good and the coffee plentiful. There was a coffee machine stationed in the breakfast area for making espressos, cappuccinos or café crème which I took advantage of each morning. There was also a nice selection of teas and teapots for the non coffee drinkers in the crowd. There was a good selection of hot and cold items and various juices and other beverages. Overall it was a nice way to start the day.

Housekeeping did a nice job of looking after the room. They were a little tardy one day but I put that off to the fact that it was the first day of Oktoberfest and they were probably very short staffed. The front desk was very helpful as were the concierges.

There is an Italian restaurant down the street from the hotel, Bella Italia, which was good and inexpensive. The service can be a bit trying but the food and location more than make up for it. The Mexican restaurant, La Hacienda, is worth a visit too. The food was good and they make a great margarita.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay and that helped to make our visit to Munich the fun and exciting time it was.
