“The better option in Munich”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

I only stayed here for one night and was happily surprised. The hotel is newly renovated from the inside and staff is very, very friendly and professional.
Upon arrival I got upgraded to an Executive plus room (I´m a HH Diamond) which was nice compared to the other Hilton who does not care for their Gold and Diamond members.

The room was brand new renovated and very good sized with balcony and separate bath and shower. Everything was in good working order. Only downside I found a spider web next to the balcony door.

Breakfast was very good and more than enough choices and included for Diamonds in the restaurant.

This will be my future choice for Munich as they seem to value there guest much more than the City Hilton.

Well done, can strongly recommend this hotel.

Hotel has everything you expect from a Hilton, prices are subject to a lot of fluctuation depending on the time of year you travel. Room size is generous and the bar/restaurant are ok...breakfast is a little hectic at peak times.
Close to the English Gardens which are spectacular (particularly at the moment - January - covered in snow).
Munich is a beautiful city and this hotel maintains the quality one expects when staying there.

Room Tip: If you are a non smoker avoid the non-smoking second floor which is above the smoking floor - you ca...

Very nice business hotel with the beautiful lobby and a big choice of breakfast. It was a little bit hard to find a location of hotel by car navigation:) Hotel has nice rooms with comfortable bed and a wide range of TV channels. It was nice to use a bathroom with a bath. I recommend this hotel to my friends. I am satisfied with everything.

Excellent customer service, nice room, unnervingly fast lifts. Right next to the Englisch Garten and not far from the centre by public transport. Not too many restaurants etc in surrounding area but plenty slightly further afield.

Room Tip: Try book a room on the 8th floor or above, nice views.

The rooms are newly refurbished and thus is excellent condition, incl. towels and bathrobes. Due to an ongoing construction in the neighborhood there was a lot of noise starting at 7am, also on saturday. Sergio at the Concierge knows his 'stuff' and was a great help. (Perfect concierge!) The spa is very poor with nobody at the reception desk during three days and no menue for massages, treatments or similar. The hammam is a plastic box and thus difficult to keep clean. The pool is small, and does not allow more than 2 persons to swim at the same time. Breakfast is very expensive with Euro 28 per person and certainly not worth it for that money. However, due to the 'new' rooms and the overall location next to the Park, it was a very nice stay.

Room Tip: Parkside rooms have a great view

First of all please do not expect a deluxe five star hotel. There a quiet a few decent five star properties in Munich like the excellent Rocco Forte The Charles Hotel or the Mandarin Oriental. The Hilton Munich is a decent, clean and comfortable Hilton chain hotel without unpleasant surprises. A big plus is the recent renovation. All rooms a refurbished and provide ample space and the usual amenities like coffe-maker, honor-bar and flat-screen TV. If you are a Hilton HHonors elite member this hotel is a good choice IMO because you will usually be upgraded to the executive floors on the top 3 floors of the hotel (10 to 13th floor) with great views over the English Garden or the city. Rooms facing towards the north-west are overlooking the English Garden and the Eisbach. The Executive Lounge on the 12th floor is decent. The breakfast buffet in the main restaurant is fabulous and one of the best I had in the past years in a four star hotel. Since the Hilton Munich Park is also the crew hotel for Qatar Airways and Oman Air you might stumble over some flight attendants. Only donwside of the hotel is that the location is a little bit of the beaten track. You will either need to walk to the city center trough the English Garden or take a cab. The first option will take 25 to 30 minutes, the latter approximately 10 Euros. In contrast you will usually find a free parking space in the sourrounding streets especially on weekends or at night. To sum up, I can say that the Hilton is a decent 4 star hotel. If you get a good rate or if you are elite member of the Hilton loyalty program you can not go wrong.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the upper-floors facing the English Garden. Floors 11 and up are the Exceutive Floo...

Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. If you have the ability to stay on the executive floors do so. Much nicer rooms and the lounge is nice too. However, if looking for nice places to eat within walking distance, I would avoid the hotel. If you have a car you are just a short drive away from some nice restaurants. If it is not raining then it would be a nice walk.

I will stay here again.
