Owner description: This large public square is constructed in the style of ancient Greece.

This is a very historic area of Munich. It was here that the Nazi's held many rallies. It was here that the book burning's we've all seen in the b&w films were actually held. They say they used to cover the whole area with cement paver's to amplify the sound of the goose steppers marching by. It is a must see for any World War II history buff.

The Königplatz was used during the Third Reich as a field for the Nazi Party's mass rallies. The Glyptothek is a museum which was ordered by King Ludwig I to house his collection of Greek and Roman sculptures. The other building, the Propylaea was created as a memorial for the accession to the throne of Otto of Greece, a son of King Ludwig I. Worth it!

The suqare is very spacious with some interesting buildings bordering it, and is a nice place to sit and relax a bit.
