“That was excellent!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2012

I have spent about 5 hours in Old Pinakothek and could spend another 5 to be honest, if there was more time. I actually liked it more than the National Gallery in London. Pinakothek is a perfect place for those who adore Dutch and Flemish painters as it contains a huge number of Rubens masterpieces. That was exciting. I was also quite surprised to see a portrait of emperor Charles V painted by Tizian as I always thought that the actual painting is in Prado Museum in Madrid.
Old Pinakothek is really worth visiting and I do recommend it.

“more than I expected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

I didn't know that the most important collection of Rubens were there.
They have also a lot of wellknown pictures, the kind you see on your school books.
The audio guide (free) worked perfectly (German-style)
Tram 27 or Bus 100 takes you there, but it is at a walking distance from Karlsplatz.

“Comfortable afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2012

Conveniently located just a 10 min walk from the old town section of Munich. Plenty of parking around this museum. Art works are nicely laid out and bench seating in the rooms is available. Some very large works and a good diversity.
