What a wealth of fabulous paintings. Loved it. We were only disappointed that the El Greco was on loan. The gallery has some magnificent old Flemish and Italian masterspieces I particularly loved.

Varied collection from artists across the continent. Quite impressive collection of Reubens. A few other big names - Rafael, Di Vinci, Rembrant. Well organized museum and not too large to be overwhelming.

The history in this museum is beyond comparison. It opened in 1836 and there are over 100 Peter Paul Rubens here. This is truly one of the great art museums of the world and you'll not want to miss it on your next visit to Munich.

If having enough time, just buy 3-day museum visit pass because the price is so cheap because you can visit as much as you like as seen in the lists

Any serious art buff should visit the Alte Pinakothek. The highlights of the collection are, of course, the Reubens room and the Durer self-portrait but my personal favorite is the Zurbarian portrait of St. Francis.
