We had heard great stories from the well-known Cafe Luitpold. The service was good and quick, the food is not too pricy and the rennovation was a success. You get in a good mood entering. If the weather is cold you should stop on a piece of pastry and a tea/coffee. Next week we have a reservation for breakfast and are looking forward.

We'd booked and confirmed but there was no record of the booking (as had to other couples behind us!).

The waitress was moody and rude - in fact many other customers noted her lack of manners. SO much so that most of our lunch was talking about her.

The food was fine, although the Weiner Schitnzel had been cooked in far too much butter.

Fabulous location, renowned for its cakes and I suspect will always be popular, but perhaps trading a little too heavily on its reputation and need to focus more on training its staff to be pleasant and helpful

This renovated café under new ownership has hit all the right spots. The pastries are delicious, the atmosphere very inviting and the prices reasonable.

We entered this cafe and thought it was so nice and the people so well dressed that it would be extremely expensive but no ... it was reasonable priced and had good food in very plush surroundings. €6.80 for soup for lunch and €18 for a main - beautifully presented.
Great for lunch, coffee or an early evening meal.

I have been going for breakfast/brunch in Café Luitpold quite often for a while now, mainly because of the beautiful atmosphere and great food. What has always been a major turnoff is the staff ; unfriendly, unmotivated and often just plain rude.
The first few times I've been there I've just overlooked the fact, supposing it might be because I'm young, and don't exactly fit into the usual clientele, but as I went there this last time with five (polite, friendly) friends of mine, and the waiter was so rough and rude, that I was really embarassed to have suggested going there in the first place.
For a start, we were completely ignored as we came, and waited awkwardly at the bar until we decided to sit down for ourselves. Our unfriendly waiter then proceeded to serve us and as we then wanted to pay, was extremely rude as I said we would like o pay separtely, and then even made some ironic and fairly snide comment about Italy (we are all italian, but speak fluent german). The other members of staff didn't even look me in the eye going past- let alone a goodbye or thank you.
Great pity; such a lovely place, but talk about service with a smile!
They've lost a good customer!
