What a gem this hotel is - and still at a reasonable price. Recently renovated, the bedrooms are quite small but very comfortable and the bathrooms are beautifully appointed. The hotel is right on the Viktualenmarkt (food market) and only a few steps from Marienplatz, where the main Christmas market is held. We took the S-Bahn straight there from the airport and then it was just a short walk to the hotel. There is a small lift in the hotel which is helpful and also a bar and a restaurant. (We did not eat there.) Breakfast is in a dedicated room and was a bit disorganised but the manager explained that the girls were new to the job. All the staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. I can't comment on any parking issues as we did not have a car with us.

Room Tip: Our rooms were on the 2nd floor and were fine - no problems with noise.

Had a small room with one bed. Interesting hotel in the centre of Munich. Ecxellent location to expoire the old town with the victualian market just outside the hotel. skip the breakfast, not so good, and go to a local bakery. If comming by car it is a long way to walk with your luggage.

Room Tip: Try to get a quiet room

We took two rooms here over four days while visiting Munich for the Christmas markets.

It is a pleasant small hotel in a great location for visiting the Aldstatt on foot. Rooms were smallish but clean and comfortable. No tea/coffee facilities in the rooms.

Staff were helpful and the restaurant attached (Ludwigs) was pretty good.

A nice place and we would use it again.

My friend and I reserved the two-bedroom suite on the fourth floor for five nights. It was spacious and charming, with big windows overlooking courtyards and rooftops. The living room was large and light, with a sofa, easy chair and dining table. Both bedrooms were nice, roomy enough, with alcoves and windows. The bathroom had a huge tub, but sometimes there was a problem of not enough hot water. The shower in the tub didn't always pull up high enough, so we had to stoop or kneel to wash our hair. The man at the reception desk didn't seem interested in fixing the problem.

The location was excellent, right by the Viktualenmarkt, where you can go first thing in the morning to get fresh juices, caffe lattes, bakery - or sausages, sandwiches, cheeses, wines, fish, just about everything, all day long. It was also very close to Marienplatz, a central location in Munich.

I would go back to this hotel, but I wish they'd fix the shower.
