You are better off wandering around Marienplatz than wasting your time and money in this God-forsaken place

“not worth the price”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Although 4 euro is not too much compared with other museums in Germany, it's still more than I would pay for this small collection of old toys. I feel like I can see (and even buy) some of the toys in a flea market. Nothing really caught my interest except for a good collection of old barbie dolls and a brief and unclear introduction of teddy bear.

“Don't waste your money”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

The ticket was only 4 euros, but I wouldn't go back if they paid me. A toy museum should be colourfull, happy, enjoyable. This looks like a prison on 4 floors, gathering the most horrifying toys you can imagine from centuries ago (some of them dismembered), piled up behind glass casings. Nothing to buy in the gift shop but some overpriced cards.
A total waste of time and money!

“Fun, but less than expected”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

The Toy Museum is centrally located off the Mareinplatz adn worth a visit if you want to take a trip down memory lane and see toys of old you may have played with, as well as older historical toys. In total there are about 4 not very large rooms with exhibits, and although with a price of 8 Euros for a family of 3 not being too prohibitive, we still expected there would be more to see. On the positive side, there was something for eveyone- our daughter enjoyed seeing the first Barbies and definitely felt Ken had come a long way from the early days; my husband liked the toy trains and robot displays, and I loved the rally old toys made out of wood and tin. We all unanimously found some of the old baby dolls rather disturbing....

“Boring”
Reviewed March 13, 2013 via mobile

When I think of a toy museum I did not picture 4 small rooms full of glass encased toys. Not to mention this was spread over 4 floors of winding steep stairs. This is not meant for kids at all just to begin with. The store was the tiniest room of all and they had some random overpriced crap, 12 Euro for a wind up toy that fits in the palm of your hand. The entrance fee of 4 Euro for this is robbery if you ask me. Had I known it was 4 rooms of glass encased crap I wouldn't have gone.
