Owner description: Hundreds of thousands of people visit BMW's four-cilinder BMW tower and the bowl-shaped museum next to it each year. The museum showcases the technical development of cars and motorcycles and also has some exhibits about the history of the company. Many old cars and motorcycles are on display along a spiral ramp that curls along the inside of the bowl-shaped building.

During a recent visit to Munich I went for the second to the BMW WORLD (MUSEUM) for the second time. I have no regrets! Easy to reach by Metro it is worthwhile visiting to see old and new BMW cars and Moto-cycles. It's free of charge! You can have a guided tour too. There are several bars for refreshments and/or small dishes!

Thank Otto B

I liked very much this museum. It is a great history of great cars in a unique place. There is lot of things to be seen there. The museum is like a parade of cars – old and famous, race cars.

No better way to learn about one of the most highly-regarded automotive makers in the world. Exciting your visual and hearing palates with the sleek designs and audio stories spanning across different eras. Wander around the museum at your own pace with the well-spaced out layout of the exhibits.

Car addicts will become photographers overnight as they snap the different angles of every model possible exhausting whatever memory space they have left on the cameras.

Hop over to the cafe after the tour and enjoy a quick snack or meal (lunch) as you can find sandwiches, pastas, salads which will satisfy your belly hunger after all brain work in the museum. Lunch proves to be popular thus recommended to make a reservation in advance.

End the trip by visiting BMW Welt across the street and have a go at the John Cooper Mini simulator. Well, do not be surprised that the chart toppers are the youngest kids around.

Unfortunately, was unable to do a plant tour as it was long booked out way in advance. So plan your trip ahead if possible to get a guided tour (call up the museum to check on availability) to visit the plant as well as I am sure it will be an eye-opening experience.

We were in town for Oktoberfest and decided to go visit the Museum & Welt one day. It is pretty amazing to see the cars over the years & also to see the current models. We were basically fueling my husbands desire for another BMW.

Pretty much what you would expect and quite interesting. Very spacious and peaceful if you want to get away from the crowds for a while. The 'new car' smell that gets pumped into the air becomes a little nausiating after a while. Strangly lots of different eateries here - not sure why and we didn't try any but they seemed quite popular.
