“More than a good Italian restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

Off the beaten path in a nice Altbau lies a small (12-14 tables plus or minus if some have been shoved together) Italian restaurant with very good food and something unique - at least in my long experience in Munich diniing. Hearty greetings from the staff as we entered - our first visit but our friends are known there. The meal began with drinks and food - and very good food it was. My buffalo carpaccio was delectable, and my main, a Scaloppina Pizaiola was very good albeit a wee bit on the dry side. All the others at table were well- pleased. Then one of the two owners came by and asked us to go along with the birthday song for another table. Fine, and we did. Back to the meal, but 15 min later, the lights went down lower (could not read anymore but done with the Karte by 22:30) and the music went up. Then the owners went from table to table, taking all the ladies dancing. After a while, every table was up and snaking a conga line around the place. The kitchen staff were at the door, clapping along. This went on for near an hour. Our friends said, "This does not happen every time, but often enough, they don't seem to need much of a reason to get going." So my recommendation is go - and tell them it's your birthday :-)

“Little Italy in Munich”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2012

Chances are, if you end up eating here, you are staying at the Motel One around the corner, having just found out that you are in the middle of nowhere. Actually, the Corte dell Angelo is one of the few options in this area, and it does not look extremely promising outside.
Once inside, you will see things improving greatly. Service is friendly, fun, truly Italian, flexible, and quick. The menu is not large, but features lots of good food & drink, also delicacies aside from the routine Italian menu. The salads were very good, so were the pizzas, and thank god we left some space for desserts - very good!

“Positive surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2011

This was a bit of a wild card, since a group of colleagues stayed in the (very nice) Motel One around the corner and there were not too many restaurants in the area.
Still, we were extremely positively surprised after a short walk through a residential Bavarian area. Greeted by friendly South-Italians, we were given a small food menu including pizza and shown the wall display with today's specials. Food was authentic Italian, very tasty and beyond the usual standards. The cheese starter with honey was delicious, and all the pizza eaters looked extremely happy. Goooooooooood desert. Stay with the profiteroles for maximum impact.
