Off the beaten path in a nice Altbau lies a small (12-14 tables plus or minus if some have been shoved together) Italian restaurant with very good food and something unique - at least in my long experience in Munich diniing. Hearty greetings from the staff as we entered - our first visit but our friends are known there. The meal began with drinks and food - and very good food it was. My buffalo carpaccio was delectable, and my main, a Scaloppina Pizaiola was very good albeit a wee bit on the dry side. All the others at table were well- pleased. Then one of the two owners came by and asked us to go along with the birthday song for another table. Fine, and we did. Back to the meal, but 15 min later, the lights went down lower (could not read anymore but done with the Karte by 22:30) and the music went up. Then the owners went from table to table, taking all the ladies dancing. After a while, every table was up and snaking a conga line around the place. The kitchen staff were at the door, clapping along. This went on for near an hour. Our friends said, "This does not happen every time, but often enough, they don't seem to need much of a reason to get going." So my recommendation is go - and tell them it's your birthday :-)
