“A Very Pleasant Stay in Munich”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

We stayed with our two children in May this year in a large quiet suite at the back of the hotel, away from the main road. The rooms were a good size, very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom very modern and well equipped. Because of the central location (15 minute walk to the station) we explored local eateries for all of our meals, and didn't take any meals in the hotel, but the small bar was fine, and service good. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English. When it was raining outside, our kids thoroughly enjoyed the indoor pool facilities, and we found the overall experience to be a very, very good one.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quiet.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in the third week of June 2013. I was there for a business trip / office work, and my wife accompanied me as a tourist. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The location is great, pretty much in the heart of the city and only one tram or train stop away from Hauptbahnhof (Munich Central station). There is a direct link from the airport as well to Hackerbrücke station, which makes it pretty accessible from the airport also. The hotel and hotel rooms themselves were pretty spacious and comfortable. All rooms were air conditioned and that was a major plus for it I would say, given we landed there in the third week of June and experienced the three hottest days of the season! (unusual weather for Munich, but those three days were pretty warm). From what I am told, this is one of the few hotels in the area who have decent centralized air conditioning. The Free Wi-Fi / Internet access in all rooms was another major plus, for both of us, to stay connected and also to get work done from the hotel room. There is a tram stop bang in front of the hotel, and that makes it very accessible to public transport. The rooms are pretty "sound proof" though, which was impressive, as a lot of the street noise did not come into the room, which is a good thing of course. The basic amenities and furnishing in the room was also decent. The service level was decent, though quite honestly we didn't ask for too much room service in the first place ! The price / tariff is a bit high though, with EUR 279 per night and the breakfast at an additional EUR 18 per person per day, so perhaps they could think of making it more competitive and affordable. Overall though, very pleasant stay !

I went solo, and the room was perfect. Comfortable and clean. Also for the prices in Munich and the quality of the hotel I found it was a good value. The decoration is modern, and having an indoor pool and sauna helps. The problem is that it gets quite crowded and there are no clear rules or anyone supervising (when I went there there were like 7 guys inside the sauna in underwear and even naked...). The gym room is quite small, but it's ok if you can find the moment when is empty. It's fantastic that is just 15 minutes from the train station and just 25 minutes from the main attractions in the city center (walking). Maybe there are not many restaurants close by, but walking just that much you get them.

This is a pretty decent hotel, conveniently located off the Hackerbruckerstrasse station, not far from the main Hauptbahnhof and only a few meters away from a tram stop. The rooms are a little dull though and could do with refurbishment. Maintenance is good, rooms are clean and breakfast was very nice. Check-in was smooth and the reception staff were very cooperative. Superbly fast glass lifts to travel in.

Room Tip: Away from the main road

We loved this hotel! We have been traveling throughout Europe for 2 weeks now & this by far has been the best hotel during our journey! The hotel itself is very clean & modern, offering a wide variety of amenities (compared to the other hotels in Europe). Such as, a restaurant, nice bar/lounge area, fitness center & spa (neither of the last two were used by us). I will start off by saying the gentleman that checked us in was very polite, nice & helpful. Unfortunately the front desk staff does not wear name tags & therefore I do not know his name but if it helps at all we checked in Sunday evening, June 2nd about 8pm. Also, Jaume (sorry if I spelled his name wrong but he is from Spain) was extremely helpful, so nice & engaged in conversation with us & seemed to truly be compassionate about his job. The hotel rooms were clean, large (again for a European hotel room) and the bathrooms were really nice. Honestly if I had to complain at all (which really its not that big of a deal) it would be for 2 things. First is you can hear the people walking from the room above but in our case they were probably heavy walkers & I have great hearing. Secondly, for me personally I didn't care that you can see someone taking a shower through the glass because I was traveling with my husband but if your traveling with a friend just an FYI. The weather was horrible while we were there, 100% rain everyday so we didn't get a chance to walk much of anywhere & we used a cab for almost everything. If you did want to walk to the shops, restaurants, bars & tourist spots it would be about a 15 minute walk. We did walk to one specific restaurant 2 nights in a row which is only .3 of a mile from the hotel, 5-10 minute walk. The restaurant is called Augustiner Bräustuben & we absolutely loved it. We loved it so much we went two days in a row! The atmosphere is very German, the staff, food & gatherings are great!! Now back to the hotel...by far we would stay here again! Thanks to the hotel staff for being so kind!!

We stayed for 4 nights at the Eurostars and thoroughly enjoyed it. From check-in all went well with helpful reception staff. The room was quite spacious and very comfortable. Despite being on a main road, the room was quiet. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety. And, being on a tram route to the main station (2 stops)and city centre (4 stops) it was very easy to get around and enjoy Munich.

We stayed here for a few nights and really enjoyed the stay. The location was just ok. We had QUITE a bit of luggage, and painfully dragged it in frozen rain from the train station to the hotel, stopping too many times along the way to check the map. Once we reached the hotel, however, we were pleasantly surprised to have a great room on a high floor with a VERY stylish bathroom. The pool was very nice, as was the sauna.

The staff at the front desk were easy to converse with in English and even gave us good directions for a doctor's office one day. The restaurant adjacent to the lobby is decent, a bit overpriced, but good food and wine selection.

The location is a bit of walk from the city center, especially in the cold, but still very doable. The cable car stop is also right out front, so if you prefer not to walk, the cable car is somewhat affordable. The Oktoberfest grounds were an ok walk, as well, but the closest good beer hall, Augustiner Keller, ended up being one of our favorites!
