Read reviews, before booking, about the hotel room being small. It is small, but this did not bother us in the least. It is within walking distance of the train station and is very close to the subway for getting into town. The view from our room was breathtaking--overlooked the rooftops of centuries-old buildings and church spires. We were there in August and were SO glad room was air conditioned. Made for wonderful sleeping. You will want an air conditioned room if you visit during August. Hotel held our suitcases for several hours as we toured Munich on last day.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in August. We were arriving via the rail station, so we chose it for its proximity to the station. It's a perfect location being halfway between the station and the main square in Munich. Those looking for a clean, modern, "Ikea" style hotel would be wise to choose this one. Loved their signature "Tiffany" blue color armchairs and fake aquarium in the lobby too!
A simple breakfast was also included (croissant, bread, cereal, cheeses, etc) in the price. Given the high prices in the prime areas for hotels, this is a good budget option at around 100 euro a night. The only caveats would be the ones common in most European hotels-the room was very small and there is the open shower idea where the whole bathroom gets to take a shower with you. But again, if you want to put cleanliness and location as tops on your list-look no further than Motel One.

Motel One is quite easy to find and in a good location - we walked from the hauptbahnof with our bags and it took us about 10-15 minutes. It's also just a few minutes to walk to the main shopping district, and there's a number of underground stops very nearby.

The hotel is ultra-modern and clean, however we were disappointed with the room amenities and size. The room had barely any space on one side of the bed, and a complete lack of storage space. There was some shelving either side of the bed, but we needed a wardrobe to hang some clothes up. Instead you are given a towel rack above a mirror with a few coathangers. If you actually use it you obstruct the mirror AND the walkway from the frontdoor.

The rooms have no irons, and if you want to borrow this from reception there's a deposit that you have to pay in cash, which is returned when you take the iron back.

The bathroom in our room was tiny and impractical. The exhaust fan didn't really work, and the shower screen wasn't good so water went everywhere every time you showered.

The breakfasts are quite busy downstairs, but there is a good selection of food - cold meats, sliced cucumber and tomato, fresh bread, pastries, cereals, yoghurts, etc.

We also found the wifi in this hotel to be quite problematic first thing in the morning and in the evening. Not sure if it was because there was so many people using it or not, but often we had to go down to Reception to get signal which was frustrating.

The one very cool thing about this hotel is the small, grassed courtyard with chairs. One evening we ordered a few drinks and snacks, and it was nice to relax in this courtyard after a long day!

Overall it's a good location and cheap hotel, but it wasn't great.

Nice modern hotel with helpful staff. Small room but we weren't there to sit in our room. Great breakfast, nice and clean, coffee/tea station and free wifi. Turn left out of the hotel to walk to the English Biergarten or turn right to go shopping.

My wife and I recently stayed in this new hotel. It is very well located beside the Sendlinger Tor underground station, it is also about a ten minute walk from the Marienplatz (Munich's central square). The room cost is very reasonable by Munich standards. Breakfast is an extra, though there are many good cafes in the city that do excellent breakfasts. Our room was a double however it was quite small, with very little shelving to place clothes. The hotel is air conditioned which was important with the 30 degree plus celcius heat! The staff are very good and helpful. It is an ideal location for a short break in Munich.

Excellent location only 50 meters from underground station in the central area of Munich. Staff very friendly and helpful. Smallish rooms but very clean and airy breakfast lounge very inviting and range of food was good. Would recommend for anyone looking for a good priced hotel in Munich without the fancy frills of the large chains

Staying here with my daughter was a pleasant experience. The room was well appointed but a bit on the small side. The location was good and the breakfast was plentiful. The staff was exceptional and overall the hotel was very clean. I would stay here again.
