Very nice typical restaurant with nevertheless elegant service and excellent food.
You don't feel in a tourist trap but this is a place where locals go.
Beer is very good

“Excellent Bavarian food”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

After two weeks in Sri Lanka, we really wanted something hearty and proper in Munich before continuing our homeward journey. Wirtshaus Ayingers was an excellent choice for Bavarian food and nice atmosphere.

The restaurant is brighter and cosier than your typical Bavarian pub/restaurant, the waiters were friendly and fast.

The food was superb and the portions were large. We started with a "Bayirische Festtagssuppe" (soup), which was tasty and almost too much for the two of us. The roast pork I had was tasty and the bread-dumplings were a perfect companion for the meat. My girlfriend had a veal goulash and she said it was probably the best goulash she's ever had (and she knows her stuff).

The prices are, of course, not the lowest, but you can get much less for the same price in Munich, so really nothing to complain about. They speak English as well.

“Nice food, cosy little bar & friendly service.”
Reviewed November 14, 2013 via mobile

The food was really nice, the servings were hearty and waiter happily explained the meals and made recommendations.
All round a nice night, the smaller scale meant it was quieter, better service and more attention to detail then surrounding restaurants.
Would happily go back.

“Nice bar !!”
Reviewed November 8, 2013 via mobile

Been in before and this time had food. Bar is right in tourist area but doesnt feel touristy.
I had the pork and wife had the liver. Both meals were nice and very filling. Service was pretty quick and done with a smile. Good choice of beers and place feels very clean and welcoming.

“Nice atmosphere, great food and service”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

Right across from the Hofbrauhaus and a world away as far as service, atmosphere and quality of food. We tried it our first night in Munich on a recommendation and ate there a second night because we enjoyed it so much. The interior is warm and welcoming, a very pleasant place for a nice dinner or a drink. Their warm pretzels were the best we had in Germany. The soups were flavorful even the pretzel soup. The pork cutlet was outstanding with tasty side dishes. The service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
