Leonardo Hotel & Residence Munich

Stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. Hotel is very clean, staff helpful and situated 5 mins from the underground network, only 3 stops from Munich centre.
Rooms are very well decorated and furnished. There are cooking facilities in some of the rooms, as well as Sauna and laundry facilities.

Nearby there are several bars/restaurants and a small supermarket.

Only downside was the cost of parking (30 Euro per day) but your car is within a secure underground car park and you don't have the hassle of trying to find a car park and pay parking.

All in all a great hotel which we will use again.

It was a real surprise to find a 4 stars hotel at a low price, one subway station from central ring and very quiet., nearby city center, . Our secret was Tui.it Booking site. Really in love with Munich, Gabriel and Roxana. Romania.

We stayed here during the Oktoberfest and whilst I understand that rates are considerably higher, I did resent having to pay the full amount up front! Paying a deposit would have seemed more reasonable?

However, the hotel itself is well placed for 2 Underground stations nearby. The reception staff went out of their way to be helpful. We enjoyed the room with balcony and the pleasant aspect looking out over a leafy suburban street, which was quite unusual for a city centre hotel. The room itself was perhaps a bit on the small side but was comfortable, clean and the kitchenette was useful for preparing DIY breakfasts. There were several bakeries and supermarkets where food could be purchased nearby.

One criticism would be the lack of free wi-fi. For something which must have relatively low overheads to operate, 5.90 Euro per hour or 89 Euro per week is a rip off!

We thought the bar had a bit of a sterile atmosphere, mainly full of load mouths who'd clearly been down the Oktoberfest for the day, so we didn't linger......

Room Tip: The adjacent street seemed relatively quiet, so noise shouldn't be a problem

Room: We were two adults and one child staying in the room, were sofa was converted to extra bed. Pretty ok solution for one night. Room was very clean
Breakfast: We paid higher room price, so breakfast was included, making fare upgrade cheap. Breakfast consist hot and cold components. Additionally there were some bio/organic products also available.
Location was suitable for us. It is not too far from Marienplatz and quite close to Deutsche Museum.
Others: Elevators seem to be very slow. Parking is available in the garage, but is quite pricey, EUR30 for night, comparing that street parking costs EUR1 per hour and after 23:00 is free. Getting free spot from street might be hard.

Stayed here for three nights in June whilst visiting our son in Munich. Ideal, two minutes from Silberhornstrasse U-bahn, five minutes to city by train. Buy a zone ticket when you arrive to cover the areas you want to travel to, we got one for a week and cost 15 euros each for all forms of transport in zone 3 which included the Olympic Park. Breakfasts were superb, ate outside in the sunshine. Rooms were clean and big enough, we only slept in them as we were out most of the day. Some building going on next door but wasn't all that noisy. All in all a good stay, staff were helpful apart from one miserable room attendant.

We stayed in this hotel for six nights in late June/early July with our 2 teenaged daughters. We had to book two rooms as they didn't have any rooms for 4, very typical in Europe. We would stay here again.

Pros:
Clean, modern, well-maintained rooms

Quiet location. Felt very safe.

Excellent buffet breakfast (ours was included in the rate but the sign said 12 euro)

Subway station just behind the hotel makes getting around all over the city easy

Helpful staff who mostly spoke English

Cons:
No a/c. I understand that Bavarians believe that air conditioning is unhealthy and much of the year no a/c is needed. However, it was 88 degrees when we checked in and our room was west facing. The room was sweltering until well after midnight. No fans available.

2 tiny elevators for a rather large hotel. One was broken the whole time we were there and the other was slow and only large enough for 2 people with luggage or 4 without.

Internet charges were very high. 5.90 euro per hour, or 45.00 for 4 days.

Not much in the way of dining options nearby, though the convenient subway stop made this point moot.

Room Tip: In the summer make sure you get an east facing room. West facing can be sweltering on a hot day.

Clean, quiet and provided with all the necessary facilities (including kitchen corner, TV and safe box). Location seemed to be quite convenient (approximately 5 min from Marienplatz by underground or 30 min on foot). Cafe inside the hotel was cosy and not very expensive. There were also several supermarkets and bars outside. Staff was friendly but not very helpful, so we did some proceedings ourselves (carrying heavy luggage to the room and back to the ground floor, as well as to the luggage room). I suggest it would be better to provide all the guests with free wi-fi acces because it feels really uncomfortable without this facility and price seems to be high. In whole Leonardo Hotel & Residence Munich hotel is very good for those who are not very captious to additional services and just want to stay at clean and comfortable place.
