The food is very good, the staff very friendly, service excellent.
To set the record straight, the location is not close to the city centre, nor is it ridiculously out of town as some reviewers assert. It is located between Bogenhausen and Oberfoehring, 5km (about three miles / 11 minutes) by cab from Marienplatz, the city centre. It is easily reached by Tram 16 (stop called Prinz- Eugen Park) plus a 450m walk, or via Trams 16 and 18, change at Herkommerplatz to Bus 188, stops at Loehengrinstrasse, and a 140m walk. The assertion that no cab would be willing to drive into town from this location is absurd. Don't be put off from the location for that reason!
We tried starters -- the carpaccio was very good, but a bit small for the price. The octopus - calamari salad was very good, and the glrilled mushrooms on salad were fantastic. As for the mains, there were two specials which we ordered, both of which were excellent. My son and I had the homemade spaghetti with fresh salsiccia (spicy sausage) and my partner had the entrecote grilled on the outdoor Holzkohl grill. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked and the salsiccia delectable. The steak was likewise a very nice cut, very tender and perfectly cooked.
The atmosphere was pleasant enough, an "indoor - outdoor" space with fabric roof, wood framed on the sides, plastic sheeting for windows when the weather doesn't suit, but out of the way on a pleasant evening like last night. Owing to the nature of the space, there is an "outdoor carpet" floor covering which was a bit cheesy but the nicely- set tables and the excellent service quickly distract from that drawback. My guess is that they could use the space three seasons plus the warmer days of winter.
