“Food OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

I went to this restaurant after reading the comments on Trip advisor and I was disappointed.
The service was very slow (approx. 1hour between each course).
We were only offered a 3courses menu as the restaurant was celebrating their 10th anniversary.
I found the fish nicely cooked but the rest was average and the dessert was very disappointing (a tiny square of brownie and 3 table spoons of rhum cream with 2 halves of strawberry and a blueberry). Menu was over 40 euros per person so a bit pricy.
On the positive side, the staff was very nice and there was very good live music.

“great find thanks to Tripadvisors!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

37 euro menu for a 3 course meal (more expensive than typical dinner spots in town, but very hard to beat for the quality/creativity of food). A lot of choices to choose from, everything we had was simply delicious! The server was extremely funny and helpful. We sat outside so not sure how the atmosphere was inside. If you go, do yourself a favor and try their apricot ice cream desserts (a few choices).

“lucky find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

it was our first night in munich. i thought we'd just explore the city and stumble into a decent restaurant by menu shopping. well we hit the jackpot with this little find! the restaurant serves mostly fish, but we play "musical plates". so the lamb chops and duck livers were just as scrumptious as the sea scallops and prawns. yes, we tried a lot. nothing failed us. every morsel was prepared to the perfect temperature with the most delightful finishings.

the wine list was a delight as well. many nice selections at prices that don't max the credit card!

the two things i would have to disclose though is that the kitchen was a bit slow and the lighting inside was too bright. we dined outside where the lighting was very romantic.

if ever back to munich, i will run back to jean de st. malo!!

“Stellar fish and more French cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

Jean de Saint Malo is my all time favorite French restaurant in Munich. They have delicious fish with wonderful light sauces. They do a wonderful bouillabaisse and also have very nice starters and desserts, so basically everything is worth a try. As the restaurant is fairly small, it has a very nice atmosphere and you also get to see - at least partially - what is going on in the kitchen, which is nice. Prices are very reasonable for the quality.

“A nice find - great French restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2011

We were headed to another restaurant off the U2 stop, Fraunhofersrt. but was too crowded, so walking around we happen on this charming yet full range, French restaurant. Delicious!
