Romantic Pension Albrecht

We just stayed there last night and very disapointed! first of all there is no shampoo provided, not hairdryer. when we asked the owner to give us the hairdryer she said that she has only one and it is taken by guests in room 1 and WE have to go and ask them to give it. okay, we took it. then I asked for shampoo she said that she doesn't have it and looked very annoyed. fine, we turned on the TV and guess... it doesn't show any channels, in both our rooms. Shower was broken and very flow was very slow. Breakfast was very poor, just glass of orange juice, few slices of ham, one egg each and bread. Do not expect to find cereals. and finally when we came down to pay for our stay the land lady just wrote number to pay for our rooms and gone away so we had to leave money and leave without any goodbye. Me and my wife travel a lot and so far this is the worst place we ever stayed in. Do not ruin your stay, we were lucky to stay there for one night only.

Room was okay with quite good view. But for anything you requested from the host, you may have to wait for at least 5 minutes. You will notice that whenever you requested the host for sth, you might have to wait until she finished her task on hand. Be sure that you can arrive not early than 5 pm and not later than 8 pm before you book this. Btw, this pension is not easy to find.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while visiting the nearby castles, and had a very nice time. Our room was the King Ludwig Suite, which had a great view, though I am not sure if it was worth the extra money (we didn't see what the other cheaper rooms looked like). But, it was clean, and the woman who runs the place was quite pleasant (contrary to what some of the other reviews say).

When we arrived, she took us to our room and then quickly went on her way. Our room was freezing, so we had to track her down and ask her to help. She was very accommodating, and turned up the heat as well as gave us extra blankets and a space heater. It seems that she knows just enough English to get by, which is probably a big reason why she doesn't engage in long conversations. But, she did give us recommendations for dinner, made small talk while she was serving breakfast, and overall treated us very well.

The breakfast was pretty good too. She met us as soon as we came down to eat and took our drink orders. She also gave us eggs and yogurt in addition to a selection of rolls, meats, and cheeses. It wasn't exactly fine dining, but it was good and definitely better than any other breakfast we've had in a B&B in Europe. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed only for a day to visit the castles and we were at first worried when we saw the building's exterior. But going inside changed everything. Room was neat, clean and warm.
Breakfast was also superb with eggs and yogurt.
Hotel was also only a few minutes' walk from the castles. What's more the room had an excellent view of the Neuschawnstein. Too bad we were there when the weather was foggy.

This is the perfect place for a visit to King Ludwig's castles! It's an easy walk to the castles and is far enough away to be a nice quiet refuge. Our room had a balcony with a view of Neuschwanstein and was very up to date and comfortable. Breakfast was included and the owner even offered to cook some eggs if desired; a nice offering from the usual meat/ cheese you get for breakfast in Europe. The yogurt was also fantastic. Truly a great value!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Romantic Pension Albrecht. I was somewhat concerned by some of the negative reviews, which I found to be entirely untrue. Frau Straus was as friendly as any B&B owner. She met us at the door after the 2nd ring of the doorbell. She showed us to our room, which was very nice and clean. Although she seemed to be in a hurry to go on with her duties, she answered a few questions that we had and would have talked more, I suppose. As the advertisement and her email said, we had a view of Neuschwanstein on the hill above us. For breakfast, we had orange juice and coffee, a couple slices of meat and cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs, and a basket of bread with butter, jam, and honey. It was good. I remember staying at a nice B&B in Maine, as well as a few others, and having nothing but cold cereal and a few rolls for breakfast. Pension Albrecht was, indeed, just a few minutes from the ticket office. Signs are posted along the main highway, so it was easy to find. We took the bus from Fussen to Hohenschwangau and asked at the information office for directions to get to the pension. On the negatives, I have to say that the garden needs some work; I expect Frau Straus has enough work taking care of the rooms and it was the beginning of the summer. Also, the bath towels were fairly thin and small, similar to a large face towel. Otherwise, nice view out of the windows, quiet place, clean, and minutes away from the activities.

This pension was very convenient and comfortable for our 3 nights, though warm at night as the days were 90s and the pension does not have a/c. We had bought fans so that helped and the air cooled at night. We walked to the ticket office for Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau and enjoyed the town of Fussen a few km away. Breakfast was typical. Frau Strauss seemed a bit distracted and her English is minimal. We had booked directly for 2 rooms at 60 Euros each, and when we checked out, she asked for cash and 67 Euros each room. I had the fax with all the info so there was no problem, but I think she is not very well organized. We did pay in cash. Many small towns in the area with many pensions, but this was a wonderful view of the castles, especially the top floor rooms.
