“What a lovely stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014 via mobile

Not there are a lot of places to stay here while visiting the castle, but if you're expecting a clean room and friendly service, you've come to the right place. My room was small, but I didn't expect more. I'm not sure if there are larger rooms, but traveling solo, this worked out just fine.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and choices of breakfast which was included in my stay.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

I loved this Hotel for the location plus the Restaurant had very delicious food. The desk staff was helpful, as well as the rest of the staff. They were happy to store our suit cases while we were out touring. Picked up and delivered our castle tour passes to us in hotel, we did not have to stand in line. The only thing I would suggest is bring your own shampoo an they do notprovide washcloths. Which has been standard through Europe.

great location. the town is all yours after the busloads of tourists leave around 430. we had a suite that had a great view of the castle from the living room, with a small balcony. very nice room, but a bit pricy. ditto the restaurant. The food was good, but very expensive. just down the street is a great place that was always packed, whereas the Muller restaurant was deserted.
A few at the front desk were a bit unfriendly, but for the most part it was a great choice.

This hotel is in the perfect location when visiting Neuschwanstein. The castle is a 30 minute walk, or you can go by horse drawn carriage which picks up outside the hotel door. The bus also picks up about 50-100 yards from the hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful, and friendly. The food in the restaurant, and bistro were both very good. The hotel was quiet, internet was fast, views of both castles were great. There is a small parking lot next to the hotel if you have a rental car. They also have a souvenir shop. Will recommend this hotel to everyone visiting this area. Helmet Regda at the front desk is fabulous. He will go out of his way to make everything perfect. He alone was worth the stay.

Room Tip: Pay for the castle view rooms.

This should clearly be the most popular hotel in town. We were debating between this and the Villa and finally decided on this one and weren't disappointed. We arrived late by car and were handled patiently by the gentleman at night. He helped us make a booking for a castle tour the next morning and gave us tips on the travel time and time required for the tour etc.
The hotel has an elevator so you don't have to lug stuff up the stairs. It feels like a mix of old and new in terms of renovation. Our room was spacious enough and there's a separate toilet and bathroom which is convenient. Breakfast in the morning had a good selection of breads, soft and hard boiled eggs, eggs made to order and drinks etc.
The hotel is the closest one to the bus ride or the horse carriage up the castle. The castle tours were sold out online but the hotel was able to make bookings via fax on short notice. They let us keep the car in the lot beyond checkout so we could peacefully do the castle tour and get back and leave.
Obviously the castle is the main attraction in town. Don't forget to walk up the the bridge before/after the castle - that's the best viewpoint. Be prepared for some steep climbs even if you take the bus or carriage.
For approx 200 EUR we were satisfied with the location, room size and breakfast. They even had a small complimentary bottle of wine in the room for us.
After seeing Neuschwanstein we didn't bother with the HohenSchwangau castle. Just didn't seem like it would be worth it.

Room Tip: Some rooms access a shared balcony. That has direct views of the castle.

We stayed at the hotel while visiting Ludig castle in Neuschwanstein in May 2014. The services tendered by the staff was excellent. All booking details were ready on arrival and also provide transport service to the bus stop for guest. The breakfast spread was good and the location of the hotel was excellent. We were very impressed with the hotel and its services and would recommend this to all.
