Booked a castle package in a superior double room. What a beautiful room!. A big living room with a good sized TV, writing desk, sofa, comfy chair and ottoman, double French doors leading out to a large patio with a table and 4 chairs, and a great view of Newschwanstein. 2 small bottles of wine and 2 wine glasses were waiting on the living room coffee table. The next day we had a fruit basket on the table. Separate bedroom, with lots of storage space, table and chairs if you want to eat in, also a TV in the bedroom. Large bathroom with double sinks, bath tub-shower combo.
We were treated with much respect right from the moment we walked in, and every detail was taken care of for us. No waiting for anything, no hassles of making any arrangements The dinner was fantastic, breakfasts were good, typical European fare. Beautiful setting with the mountains, the lake, the castles. Rather touristy crowded until about 5 pm, then they clear out and it is very quiet and peaceful. Well worth the package price when you consider everything that was included.

Room Tip: We had room 10. Loved it.

We travelled to the area on the eve of a long Pentecoste weekend, arriving to the tune of quite some crowds of fellow prospective admirors of the king's castles. Despite all that commotion, hotel parking was available and check in was fast and furious. We were given a nice room on the 2nd floor with bay sitting area, offering 180 degree views including onto the castle and a complimentary bottle of red wine, much better than your average freebee. We found the room clean and functional, no specific thrills, but then again, none expected. The TV is a bit small, and the selection of channels quite basic, but who'd travel all the way up there with the intent to watch TV. Personnel in this hotel are exceedingly friendly and do justice to whatever expectation one might have re German efficiency. The garden terrasse is a great place to relax and add inches to one's waist line, courtesy fluffy cakes and frozen pear schnaps. The extensive breakfast buffet will do just about the same; in fact, pretty much every establishment in the area either sells sugary brain teasers or a gazillion of more or less similar looking souvenirs. Kind of like a fairytale land where touristic exploitation is scientifically tuned for maximum revenue in the disguise of bavarian friendliness. Do me one favor, and don't visit the castle. Look at it from far, and don't let a close up viewing of the interior together with thousands of others destroy your innocent imagination. Instead, hike up to the Tegelberg mountain (use the cable car if you feel the weight of the cake in your belly), walk around the Alpsee or enjoy the old town of Füssen. For those who actually do want to see the castle up close and personal, please walk, it's but a barely 30 mins walk, doable even after eating the cake. We felt so sorry for the horses, which drag heavy carriages loaded with up to 12 overweight tourists per ride up the incline. There should be laws against that. Seriously.

Room is just basic for the price we paid but location can't be more perfect if you are planning to visit both Neuschwanstein and Hohenswangau castles. The ticket booth for the castles is literally a 2 minutes walk from the hotel but the ticket line is always very long. To save the hassle and time, call the hotel earlier to purchase the castle tickets and pick up at check-in. Value added service at no additional cost. There is horse carriage right outside the hotel that will take you to Neuschwanstein for €4 per person, about 20 minutes ride. Queue up at least 40 minutes before your tour time as carriages only take 8 adults at a time and it stops about 10 minutes walk away from the entrance to castle where the tour begins, on a very steep road. Alternatively there is a bus ride outside a nearby hotel (2 minutes walk) that costs €2 ride up to the castle, €1 return ride. Bus ride stops 15 minutes away from entrance to castle tour. IMHO, best option is take the horse carriage up and the bus ride down. As you leave the Neuschwanstein castle, follow the directions to Marienbrucke (Mary's bridge) for the best photo/view of the castle. You will pass by the bus stop on the way to the bridge.

Walking up to Neuschwanstein Castle will probably take about 40 minutes on a steep hill.

Hohenswangau Castle is 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Free wifi in the room/hotel and good breakfast. Free parking next to hotel. There is a Swarovski shop next to the hotel which will give 10% discount (in addition to VAT refund) if you are staying at the Hotel Mueller.

Hohenswangau is very quiet in the evening. We took a short drive (10 minutes) to Fussen in the evening and had the best dinner of our trip at an Italian restaurant - Ristorante Il Pescatore. Reservation is required as the restaurant is always full.

Would recommend this hotel for an overnight stay while visiting the castles.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Hohenswangau castle. The view of the castle is beautiful at night.

This hotel is located between Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle on the Romantic Road but full of bus load of tourists. We encountered thousands tourists (12 tourist bus per day in average, weekends about 23 tourists buses, not counting the local tourists came by cars LOL). It can get very crowded in the village.

Hotel Müller restaurant serves good food, fancy wine and the view of the Neuschwanstein Castle, we love the Bavarian style restaurant. A buffet breakfast is provided each morning at Hotel Müller, inside the winter garden area also has view of the Castle while enjoy breakfast.

The garden restaurant is quiet pleasant, you can always find a desirable table to enjoy your drinks or to have a quick lunch. The cakes are baked daily, it's must have item.. yummmm..

Our room is located at the corner and has a cute bay window. The room comes with a beautiful view of the Neuschwanstein Castle. Listen to the trotting horses, made me thought about those old movies.
Castle Hohenschwangau practically located next door to the Hotel Müller, you can walk up to the castle in less than 5 min.

Neuschwanstein Castle is a 35-minute walk away or you can take a carriage ride up to the Castle. I do have to say that I felt bad for the sturdy Budwisere horses, they work all day long up and down the hilly road to the Castle, each carriage sits 12 ppl , that's lot of weight for two horses ;( .... It was beautiful walk up to the Castle in a wonderful day, mostly inside the forest, wonder why so many lazy ppl travel around LOL.

We also walked around the lake in a sunny afternoon, we met many friendly weekend travelers walking along the beautiful trail inside the forest.

My husband and I had a great time stay in Hotel Müller.

Room Tip: Room #45 has the best view of the castle. This room with morning sun, bay window is adorable with th...

My husband and I were in loved with the place. The location was perfect to enjoy the castles and nature. The Service of the Hotel was amazing. In special Mr. Fredmun ( I may be wrong with his name - He speaks Spanish, English, French, etc) :). My only complaint was the poor horses that are used to go to the top of the castles.. It is sad to see that is still happening. I know it is not the hotel's Fault but perhaps something can be done. :).
We had a room that was spacious and comfortable, with view to the mountain ( no the castle), but it was really nice view. The Hotel offers the service of purchasing the tickets and scheduling your visit, that I think that is great even though the Ticket center is next door, you don’t have to wait in line, that is a PLUSS service. Our package included breakfast and the room was really good with lovely view to the Castle. The food was Ok, my only downside was that I am vegetarian and the choices were not that many, it will be nice to see them have additional option for vegetarians or not ( ) Grilled Veggies are always good to have at any time.
Something else great that I just remember, the hotel offers free parking

Room Tip: I am not sure if it worth it or not a view to the castle, Since you have it just right there. If yo...

I sometimes feel bad - I take more than I give with Trip Advisor, and utilize reviews much more than writing them to help over people. I am changing my ways to help more by giving reviews.

Anyway, this hotel is Excellent! Great outside seating, right near both major castles, and their breakfast spread is amazing.

I highly recommend this place.

We had booked two superior rooms, and were very satisfied. Location excellent - right between the two royal castles.

The staff were super friendly and very service oriented. The got us tickets for the guided tours of both castles, and gave us several recommendations.

We also tried the restaurant. Very good food, reasonably priced.

Room Tip: The rooms towards the street can be noisy in the morning - rooms towards the "Hohenschwangau&qu...
