The museum is located at the village below the Castle Neuschwanstein. It provides a history of the Bavarian kings with related artifacts. The costs was 9.5 Euros for adults and our 2 teenage kids were at no cost (unexpected surprise).
The 2 story museum is of moderate interest and our kids did not find it all that entertaining. There are some interesting artifacts (was hoping for more actually) and lots of history on the Bavarian kings (more than most people probably want or need to know). There was good background on King Ludwig and his family. No photos or video were allowed in the museum. Portable handsets were provided that gave an auditory explanation of items in the museum based on numbered items.
We took about 45 minutes to go through the museum and that was sufficient. One could take longer if all the materials were read and all the auditory comments listened to but this more than most would want to do.
Overall, worth spending a short visit if you are not pressed for time. The cost was okay as well.
