We had a private tour of the castle late in the afternoon. We had walked the short trip up so we could take more pictures along the way. There is another gift shop up there as well. Again you must have purchased your tickets before going up otherwise you will not be going in and you must be on time for your tour. And you cannot take pictures inside the castle - you can buy books and other info from the gift shop if you wish. I presume that is to make some revenue to go back into the preservation of the castle and I think that is fair enough. Our guide was a very pleasant man who was happy to tell us anything we wanted to know - even about the ski fields nearby! The art was mainly painted directly onto the walls to look like paintings - very clever! We learned lots of little interesting facts on our tour. We weren't able to see the whole castle as some rooms are not available to the public at the moment but we still saw quite a bit and had a very interesting time here. The views from the castle are wonderful as well. Once we had finished our tour we walked out to have a horse drawn sleigh ride down through the village and out to the horse stables where we had some snaps and a tour of the stables. We then were taken back to town and dropped off at the Alpenrose am See restaurant for dinner. Wonderful night that will not be forgotten.
