In for a relatively quick meal, and was served quite quickly.
Drinks and first course came flying out which was great.
However my Insalata Caprese was without any basil and served up on a bed of iceberg lettuce and rocket that looked a little passed its best. Dusted with dried herbs, it was OK, but certainly nothing special.
I ordered steak with a green peppercorn sauce, and I should have known instantly when I wasn't asked how I would like it cook.
A large plate came out with a small offcut of steak cooked medium-well drowning in a pool of cream sauce with some peppercorns. Unfortunately, to know that it was peppercorn sauce, you had to bite into the peppercorns, such was the lack of flavour. The steak itself was served with some very nicely done potato and braised lettuce and green beans which were OK.
However, all up, it was nothing more than home cooking (at best).
The outdoor area, whilst quite nice to sit in had any ambience destroyed by what sounded like the kitchen watching TV once they had finished cooking their covers. Honestly, I don't want to hear television voices shrieking at each other.
Service was honest, but a little slow. I've given this 3 dots only because I can't give it 2.5.
Would I go back? No.
